Description
Andy Hepworth started brewing in Reading almost directly after University. He moved to Horsham in 1980 and within five years became the youngest Head Brewer in the country, winning many awards.

The long-standing tradition of brewing in Horsham came to an abrupt halt in 2000 with the sale of its last brewery and so Andy, determined to maintain that tradition, joined up with the key members of the brewing team in order to create Hepworths, an independent brewery aiming to build its own range of quality brands, while maintaining flexibility for contract work.

In 2016 they relocated to their current site which they co-locate with Goodwood Brewery, Laines Brew Hub and Ridgeway Brewing sharing certain facilities but not brewplants.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Mix of complex malt, western hops and sick. Nice dark gold. Powerful hop kick to this.

Fles 33cl bij Himalayan in Sneek. Crisp, zoet, grainy, maltig, bittertonen, beetje diacetyl. (18-7-2026).

Flaska från SB. Ok kropp för att vara glutenfri men inte mer. Saknar det klassisk brittiska djupet i maltsmakerna. Försiktigt humlad med lite aprikos och tallskott. Ok

Fruity and woody hop aroma and light caramell aroma.
Firm bitterness with a balanced body.

Pours clear, deep amber with a dense head. Aroma is cookie dough, toffee, caramel, licorice and nettles. Flavour is toffee, caramel, almonds and dark berries followed by a slow growing hoppy bitterness.

Old rating - A 330ml bottle from my trip to West Sussex last autumn. Pours a dark amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of fruit, toffee & malt. Mildly hopped bitter finish. Decent pale ale.
