Pours a hazy yellow/golden with a big white head. Typical Belgian Ale aroma of yeast, pale malt, citrus fruits, spices. Taste is a bit lemony. Unremarkable but tasty beer.

Pours a deep copper/brown with a big beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts, brown sugar, spicy yeast, raisins, toffee, ripe dark fruits. Flavour is sweet, bit sugary. Body is above medium. Very refined and classic Belgian Strong Ale, a prime example of the style.

Aroma of malts, citrus, ripe fruits, yeast, spices. Flavour is pretty sweet, quite spicy, with a light bitter finish. Very nice Tripel.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso viene attratto da caffè, cioccolato, marron glacé, tabacco e affumicato. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera molto elevata ed elegante e il modo in cui permane è pregevole. Il cappello di schiuma marrone chiaro ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana fine. Il colore è ambrato rossiccio carico tendente marrone. Il corpo è strutturato ma duttile e multidimensionale. L'amaro è contenuto. La forza gustativa è molto elevata. La continuità gustativa è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di pericolosa beverinità. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, frutta secca, pane cotto di recente, pino, agrumi e frutta passita.

Aroma of malts, some caramel, some fruits, spices. Flavour is malty caramel, light fruity and herbal. Decent, but probably my least favourite Gouden Carolus.

Aroma of malt, caramel, plum, sweet fruits, hint of chocolate, candy sugar, spicy notes, raisins. Flavour is quite sweet, a bit too syrupy for me. Thick and full bodied. Nice ’dessert beer’.

Refrigerated 330 ml brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear red with white head. Aroma is raspberry, medium body, and little lacing. Taste is raspberry.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso resta attratto dal frumento. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la maniera in cui permane è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di pronta beva. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, frumento, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso, agrumi e arancia.

Bottle at home. Aroma is floral, pale malt, straw, fruity notes, spicy notes, a bit yeasty and grassy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a hint of sourness. Medium bodied. Surprisingly good Heller Bock.
