2004 botttle. Appearance is a dark burgundy, violet and fuschia colored body, with some dark mahogany and a biig foamy mocha head. Aroma is out of this world. Dark oatmeal stouts, big banana estery foreign stouts, lacto, caramel, toffee, AND DARK CANDI SUGAR. Flavor shows a huge sweetness; cloying, and immensely strong and fatiguing. It’s big, it’s good and it’s too much. So much residual sugar it’s unreal. Sweet to the extreme. It does abate somewaht on the very end, after an hour or so, but it still is a mix of alcohol, strong yeast and boatloads of sugar.

Dark red portwine-like color with small tanned head. Aroma has anis, licorice, plum, fruitcake and chocolate. Par to flavor: lots of salty licorice. Mouthfeel is (a bit too) carbonated. Alcohol jumps from palate in the finish. Aftertaste is salty and malty. Really interesting and complex brew. (9/4/7/4/16 4.0)

Deep clear red, huge creamy brown head. Sweet berries in a nose. Sweet, wineous portwine-like, tasting grapes. Easy to drink and warming, hides ABV well. Totally different than bottled version - but almost as good. (8/5/7/4/15 3.9)

An unclear amber beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is sweet with lots of raspberries and so is the flavor leading up to a dry end.

Bottle. Sweet, spicy, anisy aroma. Dark chestnut colour, small light-brown head. Flavour is sweet, spicy, anisy, cough-syrup-like. Very complex.

One of the most unique tripels I’ve yet had - burnt copper color, with spicy, musty, earthy aroma - interesting mix of flavors, with peaches, pickled ginger, nutmeg, and a touch of cinnamon - long, mellow, finish that tastes somewhat like christmas cookies - very different for a tripel, but very good.

Bottled. Nut brown, very lively. Perfumy nose. Dryish clean and velvetty with notes of toffee and grassy hops. Lightly woody. Elegant, and tasty!

(rather aged sample) Clear gold, end more hazy; slim white head. Alcoholic, sweet, but great - typical ’t Anker - raisins-like aroma. Drier nose than most GC beers, some portwine. A bit cheesy taste, quite alcoholic and very sweet. VERY full mouthfeel, alcohol more than obvious, dry. Very well-aged beer, sweetish alcoholic, but balanced with infinitesimal flavours and aromas. Great beer found at ’t Brugs Beertje.

Bottled. Hazy nut brown, ridiculously firm head. Sweet raspberry aroma. Fruity and malty, really sweet. Ingredients inculude fruit juice, and it really reeks of raspberry jam. The flavour is attractive, but it’s too sweet and lemonade like.
