Nuestra inspiración para revivir las auténticas cervezas mexicanas influenciadas por los métodos traídos de Austria y Alemania ha sido la guía para este grupo de apasionados cerveceros y conocedores.

Desde el arte evocativo de Raudiel Sañudo que adorna nuestras cervezas hasta los procesos históricos de fermentación que utilizamos para su elaboración en nuestra cervecería en Baja California; en Manos de Calaca estamos comprometidos con ofrecerle cervezas históricas de la más alta calidad, elaboradas de acuerdo a su estilo histórico original.

En Manos de Calaca hacemos tributo a nuestros ancestros que ayudaron a desarrollar la cultura cervecera en México con las calacas que adornan cada una de nuestras cervezas: Jefezón, Cabezón, Guladón y Belladon.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark amber with an average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma initially somewhat skunky but after a few moments much improved developing rich malt, caramel, dark fruits and yeast. Medium to heavy sweetness, very light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Pretty good effort at a Vienna.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours yellow gold with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, stewed veg, hop, caramel and yeast. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. A very drinkable pilsen.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, biscuit, toffee, hop, yeast and fruits. Medium to heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium plus body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is of sweet toffee. Warming. Not bad.

Bottle from Lupe Pintos. Appearance - golden amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - malt bag and something lightly beef stock. Taste - fudge and biscuit. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture. The finish is fairly balanced. Overall - nothing wrong with that.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden amber with a thick white head. Aromas of sweet caramel, dried mixed herbs. It’s a not bad strong lager.

Bottle from Lupe Pinto. Appearance - deep amber brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - sweaty fudge. Malt bag and light rye spice. Taste - rye spice and general cake notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - on a day like today this was a bit of an oasis.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear mahogany with a thin white head. Aromas of sweaty malt sack, toffee. Taste is light spice, rye bread, more toffee. Clean finish.

Bottle from Lupe Pinto. Appearance - golden with a thin but attractive head. Nose - green beans. Dank. Then fudge. Taste - loads of fudge on the taste. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture. A bit sweeter than preferred on the finish. Overall - a bit sweet.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear pale golden with a thick white head. Aromas are strangely toffee-ish for this style, fudge. Taste is sweet, more fudge. Weird. Tastes like a darker beer.
