Description

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Pale, hazy red with a small pink head. Very raspberry nose and flavours. Framboises can often be a cloying, not so pleasant experience, but as this is based on unsweetened lambic it’s very fresh and not too tart. Rather delicate indeed. 060498

(Bag in a box) Very dark golden, well - almost amber. Completely clear, completely flat, no head. Lovely nose of overripe fruit - plums perhaps? Fresh and quenching, naturally very acidic, but far from in any extreme way. Weird, dry bitterness in the finish. 010605

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Very dark red - close to black - decent, pinkisk head. The cherries are not so prominent in this, but they’re certainly detectable - especially because they’re not completely drowned by sourness. Even a slight hint of sweetness. A decent and drinkable classical Kriek. 100897

Bottle. Light cherry aroma evenly mixed with musty/moldy smell - smells like an old basement. Dark red color with small head. Sweet-sour cherry flavor with slight mustiness and yeast tone. A very nice traditional kriek.

Bottle, In de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Clear amber color, short off-white head. Aroma of sweet candysugar, some horseblanket, caramel. Taste is sweet like a faro, but too sweet, bit more spicy and caramel malty. I’m not a fan of Faro, and i think i’ll never gonna be...

375mL 2002 bottle generously sent by my lambic connection in Europe, Mr. Jacob Lovenlund. Thanks so much! Shared this with Muzzlehatch on 5/20/2005. From a tulip, at app. 50 degrees.
Pour reveals a coppery-amber colored lambic, with an initially moderate-to-large white foamy head that is retained well, and eventually recedes to a ring. No lacing is left on the glass, and the liquid is clear (which is why I give it a 3). Aroma, for me, was quite unpleasant. First whiff is dominated by powdered sugar, stale cake frosting, butter cookies and sugar. Even as it breaths, I still get powder. Some light rhubarb/green apples tartness is noticeable, and wet hay as well. Flavor begins quite tart, more rhubarb stalks come to mind. Bretty, lime-like flavors provide good sourness, with bits of malt sugar on the end. Lots of tart brett and acid retronasal. Still getting some butter cookies on the aftertaste. All in all, I like the beginning, but the flavor just peters out, thanks to the heavy filtration. Mouthfeel is rather sharp. I hate filtration, and this is no exception.

Bottle. Fresh raspberry and yeast aroma. Deep red color with medium head. Sweet raspberry flavor initially with a sour finish. Nice fruit lambic that isn’t overly sweet and still has lambic characteristics. / 2008 bottle opened 11-16. Maintained very nice raspberry aroma and taste. MInimal sourness - very smooth. Aged beautifully.
