Description
19th century land-use plan of the area mentions a brewery owned by a certain Petronnella De Troch.
Even older records indicate that her father, Pieter De Troch, was running a brewery on the same site in the late 18th century. Petronnella married Egidius De Troch and in 1898 their son Louis took the family business over. Louis Married J. De Neve, and their son, also Louis, inherited the brewery and farm in 1936. The same Louis married M.L. Van den Moortel.
Their nephew Jos Raes and his wife M. Vanderhasselt took on the family tradition in 1974 and have been running this rare craft brewery ever since. In 2002, their son Pauwel Raes joined his parents into the family business.
In July 2012 Pauwel & his wife Kristel Schelfthout took over the brewery to continue the brewery tradition !

Bottle, thanks Will. Aroma is loads of cherry, marzipan, almond, and dirty earthiness. Taste is good but maybe lacking something, nice fruitiness, cherry, bit of wood, nicely spritzy and bit teeth coating. Bit of armpit.

Strong cherry aroma, almonds. Very sweet and a bit sour cherry taste with a hint of vanilla. Too sweet for me, but still a decent beer. (7 4 7 4 13 = 3.5) 375 ml bottle. Not filtered. Corked bottle, bought 8/08 in Belgium. Red color, but totally cloudy. Cherry, marzipan and plums in the aroma. A solid sourness next to the sugary marzipan and cherry sweetness in the flavor. Sticky, but also a lemony cherry aftertaste, with mouthpuckering tartness lingering on. Loved this one.

Overwhelming aroma of sweet pineapples. Very, very sweet and sour taste. A decent lambic is used, but is extremely over powered by pineapple, pineapple and more pineapple.. O.K. for sweet tooths and lambic beginners. Too much for me!

Banana and citrus in the aroma. Thin. Sweet and a bit sour. Strong banana taste with grape sugar. A bit too sweet, a bit artificial, but with a decent lambic as a basis.

Bought at Burg Brewery Ermelo. It seems to be a few years old. Dusty, earthy, slightly smokey strawberryaroma with cinnamon. Very sweet, syrupt flavor with sugar, strawberry or raspberry. I''m not quite sure, maybe both. A bit artificial. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Chapeau Xmas Gueuze on 23 Aug 2021 at 07:03

Orange color with a hint of green, cloudy. Sweet plumaroma. Very sweet and a bit sour. Citrus, walnuts and a hint of oak. Not too bad, but the sugary sweetness totally overwhelmes the lambic flavors.
