Description
19th century land-use plan of the area mentions a brewery owned by a certain Petronnella De Troch.
Even older records indicate that her father, Pieter De Troch, was running a brewery on the same site in the late 18th century. Petronnella married Egidius De Troch and in 1898 their son Louis took the family business over. Louis Married J. De Neve, and their son, also Louis, inherited the brewery and farm in 1936. The same Louis married M.L. Van den Moortel.
Their nephew Jos Raes and his wife M. Vanderhasselt took on the family tradition in 1974 and have been running this rare craft brewery ever since. In 2002, their son Pauwel Raes joined his parents into the family business.
In July 2012 Pauwel & his wife Kristel Schelfthout took over the brewery to continue the brewery tradition !

Just a bit cloudy, absolutely no head. Strong banana aroma, it also smells like Red Bull energy drink. Sweet with still a good deal of sourness. Banana and a Red Bull flavor. Syrupy with hints of coffee. Surprisingly good beer, I could drink this all evening.

Purple red color. Cloudy, no head. Aroma and flavor have artificial raspberry juice. Very dusty and earthy. Very sweet, almost hurts your teeth. If it wasn't for the earthy flavors, any kid would love it as a lemonade.

Brewed februari 2004, straight from cask at the brewery in a one litre swing top bottle. Orange color, cloudy, absolutely flat. No carbon, no head. Very oaky and dusty aroma with lemon and honey. Just a bit of sourness in the flavor. Lemon, orange, oak, some honey. Just a bit of milk. Lemon and oak aftertaste. Good and firm young lambic, well suited for making a good geuze. Lightyears better as the sweet beers De Troch offers.

Grape sugar aroma with oak and honey. Very sour and oaky. Dusty, honeyish. Lemon. Forget the Chapeau fruit beers, De Troch can really make a good geuze.

Straight from barrel @ the brewery. Lambic dated 04-11-11. Golden color. Oak and lemon in the aroma. Quite sour flavor. lemon, oak, "spritzig". Very complex, great lambic. I didn’t know that De Troch could be that good! Also tasted young lambics from march, april and may 2012. Still very much in the bud, but showing promise. Lamci from dec ’12, tasted 8/13 straight from the barrel: Incredible grapefruit aroma and flavor. oak clearly noticeable. Desperately sour. Incredible! (10 4 9 4 18 = 4.5)

Straight from the barrel @ De Troch Wambeek. 2009 lambic with 2009 cherries added. Reddish pink color. Marzipan and confit cherries in the aroma. Sour flavor with a moderate fruity sweetness. Flat. Amazingly complex. Oak in the finish. World class! Update: tasted the same beer from the same barrel again in august 2013. Has lost color but further gained complexity.

Corked bottle. 2014. Purple red color. Cherry, vanilla and marzipan in the aroma. Sour fruity sweetish flavor. The sweetness only from the cherries. Marzipan, cherry pits, almonds, vanilla. Low on carbon. This one is so delicious!

Pours rose with little to no head. Aroma of elderberry and malt. Taste has rose hip notes, sweet, much like wine. Palate has berries, sweetened grape must. Eh.
