Established in 2015
Owner and brewer Kees Bubberman started his brewing career in 2007 at Emelisse, a small regional brewery in Kamperland, Zeeland. Within a couple of years Emelisse became a household name among craft breweries worldwide, thanks to the by British and American beer styles inspired ales, IPA's, strong porters, stouts that Kees Bubberman brewed. Never afraid of trying something new and relying on his experience as a restaurant chef he created more than 30 new beers, including an IPA with Earl Grey tea, barrel aged porters en stouts and strong porters and stouts with coffee. Kees was ahead of his time with experimental flavours like these.
In 2014 Kees Bubberman decided to start his own brewery in his hometown Middelburg. Thankful for the opportunities Emelisse gave him, he felt that it was time to go his own way. Brewery Kees! started in January 2015 and within a year his delicious IPA's, strong porters, Russian Imperial stouts and barrel aged barley wines, porters en stouts found their way in the (beer-)world.
Kees keeps on creating new beers and searching for new tastes, sometimes following and sometimes setting trends.

Can from Drankgigant.nl, Vlissingen, Netherlands and consumed at home Thursday 5th February 2026 was listening to Huw Stephens on 6Music, now talking to Isobel, it's Round Table later so hopefully we'll get to listen to that 😏. Pours dark gold actually it's not it's practically amber, with a large white sticky head. This is fascinating, really interesting beer, the barrel ageing is clearly leaving its mark but it's difficult to determine what barrel, it says brandy but would never have realised. Nice softness, citrus, light boozy, lingering bitterness, there's a little woody edge to it, it's really nice. Score 7.9

Smoliście czarna, pozbawiona prześwitów, tak wygląda barwa płynu. Piana w kolorze ciemnego brązu średnio wysoka, dość szybko topnieje do cienkiego pierścienia. Niemal każde przechylenie sniftera powoduje "pływanie" piany po szkle.
Aromat bardzo intensywny, palony, kawowy, z nutami ciemnej czekolady, kakao, akcentami orzechów.
Smak minimalnie słodki z paloną, kawową goryczką. Goryczka jest wyraźna, długa, "sucha".
Alkohol nieznacznie przypomina o swojej obecności. Ciało wysokie, pełne. Tekstura płynu jest oleiście gładka, "śliska". Posmak długi wytrawny, kawowy, palony.

0.33 l can from 'Craftbeers', best before January 2027. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, rather fruity and a bit resiny aroma of mango, orange, pineapple and some vanilla. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity, slightly resiny taste of orange, mango, pineapple, vanilla, some whisky and light pine, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, a little woody finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good IPA, interestingly flavoured by the barrels, very heavy on the oaky vanilla flavours. Definitely one of the better barrel-aged IPA's from Kees.

Can picked up from Drankgigant.nl webshop, Vlissingen, Netherlands and consumed at home Sunday 1st February 2026 after a lovely loop walk to Brotjackelreigel and beer (or two) in the tower. We've got Chicken Meatballs with Orzo for tea tonight. Pours hazy light silvery/gold with a mid sized white head. Nice soft mouthfeel. After the SN Torpedo and the Pomona Island 'What the Dormouse Said', this is definitely more in Torpedo territory, lovely resinous touches throughout, nice malty underbelly but a big hoppiness, it's a lovely, lovely beer reminds me a lot of a classic big West Coast IPA. Score 8.0

CBJ Tasting. Clear amber-gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavourwise there's citrus and caramel and booze. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish.

Bottle share at CBJ. Thanks to Mr Frog for the can. Near clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, a mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy pale malts, mildly dry, a mild creamy sweetness. Soft pine into slightly ripe citrus. Airy finish. Bit ripe.

Nice stuff. Some piney accents, sun-kissed pale malts. Faint resin. Moderately sweet. Rather drinkable.
