Description
Life's too short for boring, middle of the road beers. Craft Brewery Kees! stands for tasty, fruity, hoppy flavours and strong dark ales, but there'll always be that 'twist' . That special 'something' that make his beers stand out.

Owner and brewer Kees Bubberman started his brewing career in 2007 at Emelisse, a small regional brewery in Kamperland, Zeeland. Within a couple of years Emelisse became a household name among craft breweries worldwide, thanks to the by British and American beer styles inspired ales, IPA's, strong porters, stouts that Kees Bubberman brewed. Never afraid of trying something new and relying on his experience as a restaurant chef he created more than 30 new beers, including an IPA with Earl Grey tea, barrel aged porters en stouts and strong porters and stouts with coffee. Kees was ahead of his time with experimental flavours like these.

In 2014 Kees Bubberman decided to start his own brewery in his hometown Middelburg. Thankful for the opportunities Emelisse gave him, he felt that it was time to go his own way. Brewery Kees! started in January 2015 and within a year his delicious IPA's, strong porters, Russian Imperial stouts and barrel aged barley wines, porters en stouts found their way in the (beer-)world.

Kees keeps on creating new beers and searching for new tastes, sometimes following and sometimes setting trends.

On tap at Haand Festival. Looking delicious in the glass this one, black as can be, topped by a dense, light tan head of finger thick size. Lacing too. Mocha, licorice, roasted malts and an alcoholic touch in the aroma. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with some warmth more reminiscent of chili than alcohol. Full body and a smooth carbonation, with flavors or roasted malts and mocha coffee. Everlasting finish with roasted malts, coffee and alcohol. A bit intense this one, still lovely though. 150530

On tap at Haand Festival. It’s a lighlty unclear, dark orange colored beer topped by a dense, beige head. It’s fruity-sweet on the nose, with a light alcoholic touch, pine cones and some citrus peel. The flavor has some maltyness in the back, with citrus peel, resins and bitterness. Some alcohol warmth, it’s full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Lasting hop dominated and quite bitter finish. A bit sweet, but delicious indeed. 150530

On tap at Haand Festival. It pours a lightly unclear orange colored body under a finger-thick beige head. Citrus juice, pine cones and some cat pee in the aroma. Cat pee in a nice way of course. Some malts in the back. There’s a nice bitterness in the mouth, dealing easily with the malts there is. Citrus peel and pine cones too in the flavor, lasting for a while. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, pleasantly dryish too. Overall, a refreshing and pleasant pale ale. 150530

On tap at Haand Festival. A brown, unclear beer with a dense, dark beige head on top. Curtains. Roasted malts, a touch of coffee and some dried fruits in the aroma. Hints of vegetables too. It’s medium bodied, dry and nicely carbonated even though an Englishman would probably find it overcarbonated. There’s a nice bitterness in the mouth, blending with the roasted malts and hints of dried fruits. A bit more coffee-ish in the end. An easy drinkable and tasteful beer I could drink more often. 150530

At a tasting, thanks, small creamy head, murky brown color, aroma of grains, hay and minerals with a fruity hint, flavor of caramel, bread and grains, light to medium bitterness. Very English, fair.

Bottle purchased from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry consumed at home Sunday 23rd August 2015 Lovely silky smooth but also quite hoppy porter. Looks good in the glass dark, dark brown with a light beige head which is creamy textured and impressive looking. Chocolate and coffee provide a solid roasty foundation and compete for the top billing but for me the fresh green hoppiness keeps things in check and cuts through all magnificently Soft in the mouth, so smooth, a real winner. Kaum karbonisiert. Intensiv torfiger Antrunk. Weiches süffiges Malz, nicht alkoholisch. Das Malz bleibt konstant hoch, Schokolade, Espresso. Quasi keine Bitterkeit auch zum Ende hin, daher ziemlich süffig. 11/10/12/10//11
