Pours dark amber with a bright white head. Aroma of mango, some pine. Taste has some more mango, heavy pine resin, citrus pith. Palate has some lingering hops, pine resin, some more citrus. Distinctive New Zealand hops. Quite good.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: copper color with a two and a quarter fingers of white foamy head which slipped off at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet citrus with some mango, apricot and grapefruity hop notes; slight pine and sly hop oils, clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bittersweet quality; finishes mainly with the mango, apricots and mixed citrusy hop tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness, light hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: nice as an AIPA but I don't see it as a NEIPA.

Eli's draught, 10/11/25.
Dark, clear. Small, tan head.
Not really any clear adjunct, and actually it's a bit punchy from acidity/roast. Dark chocolate and bread. Not boozey or sweet.
Kind of a puzzling flavor. No distinct adjunct, no comforting malt. Super dry and a bit punchy with bread and acidity. Vague. Not soft. Strange one, not sure what went wrong here, but it's tough to drink.

2024 draught, Eli's, 10/11/25.
Clear, dark. Spotty, tan head.
Oaky/woody nose with dry spice and not your typical, sweet bourbon character. Soft chocolate and light caramel with prune and light pine. Hint of dark chocolate. No booze.
Oaky and chocolatey with mild spice. Chewy, rich texture with good attenuation. More and more coming to appreciate the "moderate" abv on these. Do we really need this to be 16%?? I don't think so.

Eli's draught, 10/11/25.
Dark. Clear. Very slight, tan head.
Rich but tasteful apple brandy in the nose is juicy and not sharp or boozey. Touch of chocolate behind it with no alcohol or flaw.
Soft and juicy apple with big oak coming through in the middle. Dark chocolate and caramel from the base balances more or less. Hint of chew to the body but it's on the lighter side for the style. That's fine, it's not thin and it doesn't need to be syrupy. Oddly a bit sweeter than the non-BA Mexican cake version. But still not a sweet beer. Love how flavorful the spirit and oak are, yet neither are aggressive/sharp. No booze. Lingering dark chocolate.

Eli's draught, 10/11/25.
Dark. Probably clear. Small, tan head.
Adjuncts are homogenized and not overdone. Light fudge, big dark chocolate. Touch of pine from hop. Not boozey.
Succulent texture is rich and chewy without being sweet. Cacao and rich vanilla with minimal cinnamon. Light hints of roast and a kiss of piney hops. Lingering caramel, vanilla and chewy, crunch chocolate. No alcohol noted. Love how much texture there is with such high attenuation.

31/8/2025. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Pours clear very dark brown with minimal head. Aroma is toffee, biscuit, chocolate, malted, toasted, dried fruits, musty edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium to full bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Aged. Good complexity.

Opaque colour, mid-sized brownish head. Ash, chocolate, roasted malts and licorice in the nose. Full-bodied with smooth palate. Roasted, a bit ashy, dark chocolate, some hops. Classic style imperial stout. Well-brewed.

Can from trade with ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Date on bottom of can is off center so unreadable--I guess I should have read the review to see how old this is! Is ADDITIONAL age likely to have helped it? We shall see...
Cloudy, light brown-dark yellow, a few dark floaties, light sparkle, ample head with excellent retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong citrus and grapefruit with light mango and apricot. Taste is strong citrus and pine, honey malts. Soft carbonation, mostly piney, lightly bitter finish. No sign of alcohol. Compatible with the rest of the NEBCO stable. OK.
