15-08-16 / 500ml bottle. Pours a dark orange colour. Thin foamy head which disappears very fast. Medium sweet with a light acidic sour aroma. somehow watery. Potential for a good Altbier, but it lacks some body.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, ruby brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Moderately roasty malty nose with hints of coffee, bread crusts and toasted sesame. Roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Dark and moderately roasted malty taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and mildly burnt accents, leading into a dry and mildly roasty bitter finish with a whiff of sourness. 01.VIII.16

500ml bottle, from trade with Erzengel. Many thanks! Two years out of date. Pours clear amber, very thin white head. Aroma is medicinal, ginger, herbal. Taste is oily, fairly thin, medicinal and lacking carbonation. Kinda tastes how an old beer from this time might have been like. But not one I want to return to.

500 ml bottle poured. Huge thanks to Alex for sharing your findings. Can’t think of a more unique beet that I’ve had in recent memory. Pours a dark purple tinted brown with a soap bubble head. Red grape, peaty aroma. Flavor is musty, grape, dark fruit, and a dry, peaty, tobacco like constant. A fruity, smokey combo isn’t something I ever pictured enjoying, but this isn’t bad. Gets better as it warms. Red grape comes out a bit more. Not quite as sour as I expected, but I think it was enough here. Listed at 8%. Unique to say the least. Very fun beer.

500 ml. bottle. Dark red brown, only a few tanned bubbles. Nose is fermenting red fruits & berries, fermenting cranberry, lightly sour malts & some leaves, blackcurrant. Berries are big in the taste, elderberries I suppose but I don’t know how those taste like. Taste is sour wild dark berries, blueberries, huge elderberries I suppose, lots of berries, sour wild uneatable berries in a great way, faintly fermenting blackcurrant, red wine vinous, the fruit here is massive & delicious. Body is thick syrup red wine & fermenting dark uneatable berries. Dry, grape skins, dried out red grapes. I have had the base & it didn’t do much for me but this is very lovely, the fruit really makes this beer. This is very neat.

Sampled at ’Proeflokaal De Prael’ during Sebastian Sauer’s masterclass for Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Hazy, dark red with an off-white head. Sourish-fruity aroma of elderberries, blackcurrant and some red grapes. Sourish, fruity taste of elderberries, blackcurrant, a touch of red grapes and some vinegar, followed by a medium long, rather tart finish. Medium body, rather astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Tap at Beergeek Bar Freigeist tap takeover. Very dark colour with a nuclear purple head. The aroma and flavour reveal a considerably tart berry impression, blackberry, sourish.
