Aug. 2012: Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 9.5%. Pitch black colour, creamy brown head. Intense aroma of chocolate and espresso coffee, also liquorice and oak. The flavour is oaky and roasty with loads of chocolate, without being too sweet. Also notes of liquorice and espresso coffee. Well balanced, an excellent beer!

From a dollar can off the clearance shelf. Pour is slight haze on lemon pale. First taste is certainly lemon on ale, possibly a milder wheat ale? Not sure. Good combination of sizzling carbonation and tartness. In th middle, some lemon peel coming thru with a little lemon pledge as well. Slight bitterness begins to set in, I think this is where the wheat ale thang is coming in. Pretty good finish, went down easy and the can is already gone, not bad.

Delt med A-L i heimen på nyttårsaften. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget luftig skum som daler sakte. Tynn spotlacing. God kaffearoma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken røstet malt, lakris - og litt kaffe. Lett tørr avslutning. Balansert - og alkoholen godt kamuflert. Siste rating for meg på Ratebeer. Det har vært et forhold som varte i nesten 20 år. Har brakt mye glede - og en del fortvilelse. Ikke ulikt et ekteskap som har vaklet i mange år før det ble helt slutt.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brn/blk with a dark tan head that tried to pull a Guinness. The head persisted and laced somewhat. Aroma has lots of pie spice - cinnamon and nutmeg stand out. Just med body - I expected it to be thicker. Flavor is heavy on cinnamon. Dark malt is rather obliterated. Nice drink.
