The dominant aroma is herbal. There are light citrus notes as well. A great looking beer. Dark orange and slightly cloudy, with a large and creamy white head; it looks as if it could have come from a cask. The flavor is predominately floral/herbal, with only a little citrus flavor. A very bitter beer. Heavy, creamy palate.

Sampled side by side with normal version, thanks Mads!
Opaque black, small tanned head, roasted, woody, chocolaty aroma. Sweet, hoppy, oaky, roasted, liquerish. Good roasty aftertaste. I liked normal version a bit more.

Dark nut brown, small white head. Musty, smokey barley wine nose. Full-bodied. Roasted barley, some licorice. Good beer, could have more character.

Hazy copper brown, small white head. Hoppy nose to extreme for hopheads. Sweet malty background in the extreme hoppy flavor, Great double IPA. A bit similar to Norrebro’s North Bridge Extreme.

Bottle Pours a moderately thick oily black with a chocolate tan head. Aromas are of prunes, grapes, sweet chocolate and a little coffee and alcohol. Lots of thick sheeting lacing. Flavors are mostly dark smokey charcoal notes with some coffee and dark pitted fruits.Quite bitter with hops and dark roasted flavors as well. The trailer is a lingering bitter, woody sense. Very thick smooth feel. Terrific.

Strong citrus/floral taste, leaning toward floral. Slight malt sweetness and a nice bitter afterbite. Aroma wasn’t as strong as the taste, but hints of citrus and malts. Overall, a very nice IPA.

Bottle Poures a hazy orange amber with a huge fluffy head that was off white and lasted till the bottom of the glass. Strong aromas of hops, the citrusy kind, and sweet malts. Some fruity notes as well Flavors seemed very well ballanced. The hops were strong but in a blunt way. The swet maltiness was a nice compliment and the two tangod in my mouth untill I had to crash theur party with a roobust gulp. Nice full fairly heavy feel and an appropriate lingering bite. Very nice, but as far as the elite 2IPAs I’ll still go with the 3F

This beer is malty, indeed. Semi-sweet, somewhat buttery flavor with hints of caramel. Slight hop presence. Slight bitterness. Smooth drinking and medium bodied.

[maverick imperial stout 2003] Impressive black pour with one of the darkest tan heads you’ll ever see (but it disappears quickly) - warm, inviting alcohol nose, with aromas of vanilla, bourbon, charcoal, hickory - a little on the thin side, dispite this complex and "heavy" aroma - not overly-sweet, with a lot of dark chocolate/espresso bitterness - quite a dry finish for an imperial - starts with a lot of promise, and ends a little lacking.
