Dull dark amber colour with rich head. Piney, slightly minty hop aroma with breadcrusty malts. Rich, resiny hop flavour. The woody bitterness is balanced by ample whole grain malts, as well as toast and caramel notes. Like most of Great Divide’s beers, this is easy-drinking and well-structured while maintaining stylistic integrity.

Slightly hazy orange-amber colour. Earthy, slightly caramelly, crackerlike aroma. Earthy, slightly toasty, slightly caramelly flavour. Medium body. Good balance. A straightforward amber - and thus devoid of any particular attractions - but decently made.

Reddish-purple colour. Bright raspberry aroma. Flavour has a distinct malt underpinning with slightly juicy fruitiness playing lead. There is a slight bitterness that gets in the way during the middle of the beer, but it also adds an appetizing dryness to the finish. The overall concept has limitations, but they’ve done a good job with it.

Very dark brown. Chocolatey aroma with light coffee and bourbon. Sweet flavour - vanilla, bourbon, white chocolate, and more light roasty notes. Fair amount of hop bitterness remains in the finish to dry things out a bit, though alcohol also contributes.

2005 bottle from Julios consumed 5/28/2005 at OldGrowth’s BBQ. Filtered, shiny orange, with some deep golden tints in it as well. Head is small and white but provides some retention as a thin cover. Light lacing. Smells of heavy floral hops, dry and very plant-like. Notes of light oranges as well. Some moderate caramel and toasted grains. Flavor is full of dry, bitter floral hops, giving it a nutty/chewy palate, with caramel and dry graininess. Too much carbonation, and just too much dryness from the hops, in my opinion. Finishes with bitter grapefruit, traces of yeast and mineral water. Lightly bubbly mouthfeel, medium body. Another hard-palated American beer pretending to be British.

(Bottle 65 cl) Dark amber, thick, creamy off-white head. Incredibly fruity nose with hints of....pineapple! Beautiful hoppy aroma with lots of fruity esters - again. An underlying sweetness almost drowned by an extreme bitterness, but also an extreme experience. 310505

I remember the bitterness of the regular version of Yeti being the only thing that kept me from liking it a whole lot more than I did. Luckily with this iteration the almost overdone hops are reined in by the aging. The beer is thoroughly black with a thick dark brown head. Sticky rings of lacing. Big chocolate and hops in the nose. Rich and velvety with lots of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The vanilla advertised on the bottle is there in trace amounts. The finish is where the hops kick in again but they aren’t overwhelming as in the non-aged version. As it stands I liked this one a lot.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful, dark amber. Filtered and clear with a small, fine and very creamy head. Fruity, hoppy nose. Fat, almost sticky, body with loads of malt. but being an IPA this of course is a hop-show with the hops completely taking over the scene. A crossfire of hops - both the aromatic and the bitter ones. But it ends intensely bitter - albeit not exactly suffocating as the same brewery’s "Old Ruffian". 290505

Bottle. Very malty aroma, some hoppiness. Unclear dark brown colour, small head. Strong peppery flavour with much aromatic and bitter hoppiness. Slightly astringent aftertaste. Good body, slightly syrupy mouthfeel.

[At the brewery] A clear red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with slight fruity esters and notes of raspberries. The flavor is dominated by raspberries and very carbonated, so that it reminds me of a sodapop. The end is dry, but the body is thin.
