Tap at the tap room. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy, lightly spicy. Med body. Flavor is earthy/spicy, a little pale fruit, maybe touch of banana. Spice seems clove. Dry. Quite flavorful.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours dark and brassy gold with a white head. Aroma is green hop and earthiness. Med + body. Flavor is not really dry, the malt is enough for support, and the hop is over the moon. Flavor is very earthy and hop/herb green. Not at all evergreen. It is really bitter. It so hoppy it deserves to be dank, but that's not the direction. Great stuff.

Tap at California Craft Beer Summit 2017. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is mosaic and citrus. Med body or so. Flavor is the aroma with light malt. I call dank. Pretty dry and definitely bitter. Excellent.

Tap at Capitol Hop Shop. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is juicy pale stone fruit - mostly peach for me. Med + body. Flavor is juicy fruits, some tropical, but still mostly peach. Really good flavors. Reasonably towards dry and rather NE level of bitter. Excellent.

Huge thanks to OrosO for sending me this. A pronounced tip-of-the-hat to Dave for nailing 10,000 rates. Well done sir. The 32oz crowler pours with a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up mango, sweet malts, sweetened grapefruit juice and a dash of soft cantaloupe. The taste is code-black dangerously drinkable. I’m seated, the cat is seated. . . . Here we go. I get smooth malt sweetened and softened bitter grapefruit citrus hops rolling quickly toward juicy mango and cantaloupe. Behind that is a perfectly integrated pine hop bitterness. Instead of creating modest island of bitter hoppiness it is rather pulled into the soft malt sweetened grapefruit. Good gravy. This is going down far too easily. Are we still seated?

Crowler from Marcus. Pours bright gold with a nice white head. Aroma wafts from the pour: citrus and tropical - with a suggestion of near-dankness. Med ++ body. Flavor is citrus, arguably mango, and maybe a bit earthy. It’s not dank, but it’s pretty close. Not dry - but it’s just fruit juicy, not malt. Mild hop burn. It really goes down a treat. Bitter, but hardly harsh. Malt well overwhelmed! Nicely balanced that IMHO. Great ale.

Crowler courtesy of Marcus who got it at Claimstake! Pours a very slightly orange tinged gold with a large foamy white head. Aroma is oh so dank. Claimstake likes hops, and they really show it here. Med ++ body. Flavor is oh so dank. Hop burn. Not harsh. This isn’t entirely dry. But the intense hop flavors take care of that. So what are the hop flavors? Fruit and citrus seem likely. Yet there’s something in the mix reminding me of wood, perhaps Spanish Cedar. It’s really complex. Malt? Yes. The flavor isn’t clear to me, but the impact is. It’s like food. This is desert island beer. Assuming refrigeration and resupply. It’s likely too much for Ahi, but I think it would match barbequed swordfish marvelously well. It would be really interesting to have it with sushi and wasabi. Uber would be a requirement.

Crowler shared Marcus. Pours amber with a beige head. Light malty aroma. Hop is hard to get. Med body, almost. Flavor is short of floral, light spice. Not a hint of chocolate for me - which is good IMHO. It’s nice. Quite drinkable, tho nowhere near so exciting as the typical Claimstake.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours bright med gold with a white head. Aroma is fruit juicy. Med body or better. Flavor is hoppy - very. Not really dank, but near. It’s fruity, grapefruit, and maybe something tropical. So much hop it’s hard for me to parse the contents. Seems dank with time and the malt is hardly noticeable. Bitter and hoppy finish. Really tasty/good stuff.

Can from beerboxer. Pours hazy/translucent gold with a transient white head. Citrus wafts from the tulip pour. Aroma is very citrus and somewhat earthy. Amazingly I think the malt can be detected. Med ++ body. Flavor is sweet fruit, sour fruit, and probably all citrus. The after effect is dankish. Something like ruby grapefruit popped up in the finish. Surprisingly this isn’t harsh and burning. Smooth. Earthy/dank. Can’t recall a DIPA like this one. Very good stuff.
