Description
XT Brewing Co is an innovative, independent brewery crafting a wide range of exceptional beers. Our XT beers form the core range of characterful, full flavoured brews and our wild side, Animal Brewing Co, pushes the boundaries with new and exciting one-off specials. The options are as infinite as the natural world.
We designed and installed our 18 barrel brewery during 2011 and brewed the first full scale gyle in November 2011. The equipment was custom built for us in Burton upon Trent.
The brewery is on the beautiful Notley Farm estate on the Oxfordshire Buckinghamshire borders, with far reaching views over the Chiltern hills. We are as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible; recycling nearly all our waste products and our spent raw materials go to local farmers to feed their cattle and pigs.

Cask at EBF April. Opaque amber. Thin bubbly white head provides a very thin band. Aroma has low key citrus and malts. Flavourwise we have a bitter streak quinine and resin- and underlying caramel. Spice. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Old school but characterful.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] An attractive bright copper coloured pour with a thin cream head; malty aroma with a hint of spice; smooth in the mouth with a sweet malty body and a gentle hedgerow hop bitterness; then a nutty malt finish. A rather good Brown Ale, worth savouring.

500ml bottle from Lapworth Wines. Glowing clear gold with off white head, nice lasting top. Aroma is bready malts, light spice and floral. Taste is caramel, some doughy notes with a strong grassy to floral hoppy bitterness which grows to the finish with a slight tanginess. Dry and somewhat astringent. Not great but not terrible.
