From tap at Utrechtse Bierbrouwersfestival 2016. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, fruity hops, tropical fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is above medium. Very tasty Black IPA.

Bottle from Flink Gegist, Delft. Aroma is mostly caramel malt, with bread, a soft herbal touch, light hops and light fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is thin. Drinkable but unimpressive, it lacks character and the Hüll Melon doesn’t really shine.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is dark malt, massively hot chillies and caramel. Then more crushing chillies. Flavour is sweetish with big chilli burn. Body is medium. I love me a chilli beer but this is too much even for me, not undrinkable but way off-balance. Kinda fun though...

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is citrussy with orange, soft hops, malt, candied fruits, notes of herbal lime leaves, and a hint of alcohol. Flavour is medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is medium. Falls short as an IIPA, but not a bad beer, boldly bittersweet with lots of citrus.

Tap at UBF’16, Utrecht: Black colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of citrus, chocolate and some herbs. Also very foamy beer so you will have to wait an while to drink it properly.

Tap at L.I.B.Leiden: Hazy yellow colored brew with an dry bitter start and then the sweet comes in, also some fine faintly hints of lemon.

Tap at the Hoppzak, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour with a big frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty, grassy, nettle, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, dry, liqourice, grass box, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
