Clear amber beer, very small off-white head, unstable, adhesive leaving a nice lacing. Aroma: cow stable, hay, some caramel, hazelnuts, toast, little bready, yeast. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, nutty, hay, chestnuts, soft bitter. Aftertaste: hops, toast, little caramel, very English touch.

Cask at London Drinker 2012. Pours clear, golden-brown with a small, bubbly head. Some dirty earth and light, burnt grass in the nose. Faintly sweet flavor with burnt malts and earthy bitterness. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Semi-dry finish, light tang, faint plastic, dirt, and burnt grass. Very light cocoa. Uninspiring.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20120306) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had toffee, hops and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were herbalness, malts, toffee, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, herbal and bitter. Quite complex taste and not only nice.

Cask gravity @ The Falcon, Clapham Junction SW11. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty hoppy bitter licorice aroma. Roasted malty hoppy bitter citrus flavor with hitns of licorice. Has a roasted malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

(Cask at Kuikka, 20120127) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had roasted malts and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, burnt and bitter. A tasty mild.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Near black. Chocolate meet aniseed. Near full body with firm meaty mouthfeel. Black pepper, fudge and licorice. Peppery bitter finish. Full flavoured, warming and full of character. Really good!

Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light to moderate hoppy, flowers, citrus - orange notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, lemon - citrus notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110429]

Cask at The Hawkley Inn, Hampshire, A really well build amber bitter. Well balanced, good malttastes and citric hops, dry finish.

Cask at The White Hart, Nicholsonโs, London. Pours dark brown with a bubbly, foamy and off-white head. Looks good. Holds a lovely aroma of pine, grapefruit and moderate roasted malts. The flavor isnโt quite as nice as the aroma but itโs still decent. Some semi-hard roasted malts, light baking cocoa, pine and grapefruit are all in there. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Moderate roast finish with short bitterness, some light sweetness, definite saltiness, light resins and some dark fruits creeping in. A respectable black IPA.
