Description
In het jaar 2000 is Bierbrouwerij Volendam, voorheen Brouwerij het Veulen, gevestigd in Volendam. Bierbrouwerij Volendam brouwt haar bier op ambachtelijke wijze met traditionele hoge gisting op fles en 100% natuurlijk zuiver.

In September 2022, the name and logo are changed. The brewery continues as VD Bier.

In November 2024, the brewery announced that it would transfer beer production to the Berging Brewery in Purmerend thus becoming a client brewer.

Pale golden color with a thin, bubbly white head. Fruity aroma with spices, yeasts and citrus. Taste is lightly bitter. Finishes dry with citrus. Ok.

Bottle@Yespr’s - Yellow clear pour with small white head. Aroma and taste is sweet with notes of malts and yeast, some wheaty notes, grassy herbal hoppy notes, dry finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild spiced and slight estery. Carbonated. Flat malty. Light herbal. Dry and cardboardish finish.

Sampled draft @ Arendsnest during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Hazy orange, little white. Nose is light mineral, big funk, malt,… Taste is mellow, oddly sweetish with brett, candy, mild funk,… No real balance between the funk & sweetness but apparently this was an infected brew so there is that. It is still pretty decent. Grainy & tad malt body. Okay but unbalanced. (Thanks for sharing Kermis, Maakun & tlahav).

Tap at Arendsnest. Clear dark golden with small white head. Honey, sweet malts, quite some hay and straw, French herbs, light rubber in the finish. Light sweet with very light sour touch. Medium bodied.

Tap @ Cafe van Gunsteren, Lammetjesdag 2015. Light golden coloured with an off white head. Nose is spicy, light grassy, bit of caramel. Flavour is caramel malts, spicy, grassy, Belgian yeast. So so.
