Description
In het jaar 2000 is Bierbrouwerij Volendam, voorheen Brouwerij het Veulen, gevestigd in Volendam. Bierbrouwerij Volendam brouwt haar bier op ambachtelijke wijze met traditionele hoge gisting op fles en 100% natuurlijk zuiver.

In September 2022, the name and logo are changed. The brewery continues as VD Bier.

In November 2024, the brewery announced that it would transfer beer production to the Berging Brewery in Purmerend thus becoming a client brewer.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 23 Aug 2014) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of bread, peaches and grassy hops. Malty, hoppy taste with bread, cereal, citrus, lemon peel and a generous grassy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty pilsener with a generous hop character. Quite nice.

Draught at Arendsnest Sweet taste of red currant with a light bretty touch.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of nail varnish remover, taste is similar. Not great.

Bottle at home... Copper.. Thin white lacing... Sweet candi suger.. Soft fruits.. Oily fruits... Light alcohol... Sweet toffee... Caramelised apricot

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 20 Aug 2014) Hazy golden colour with frothy white head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, hoppy nose with bread, grass, citrus and fresh hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of bread, grainy malt, citrus and a generous grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Well made, fresh and tasty. This was a surprise, and quite an excellent pilsener. Nice one.

Draft at Arendsnest. Pours hazy dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of Brett, citrus, caramel, malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Draft at In De Wildeman. Clear golden with a white head. Grain, veggies, malt. Flavour is light sweet and over moderate bitter. Light bodied with high carbonation.

Boring bock beer. Thin body of the usual sweet malt, with the same spices and fruits everyone else uses.
