Description

33 cL bottle. Pours murky brown with dense little off-white head. Aroma is mild Belgian yeasty, light fruity and mild caramel malty. Not a very pronounced aroma in anyway - but not faint either. Light fruity lingering flavour, solid plum to medium sweet raisin note. Light yeast spiced note and a very subdued caramel malt note towards a mild hint of chocolate smoothness. Ends with a light bitterness and a complex fruity mix.

75cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan creamy head. Aroma of sweet malts dominates. It has a medium body that is creamy and sweet with a touch of alcohol coming through. This is a very well done quad that I definately look foward to having again and again. Excellent brew!

75 cL bottle, huge thanks to Bierkönig. 2004 bottle, BBD: 12/2007, tasted 01/2008. Pours hazy orange with a diminishing white head. Light honey, yeasty spiced and mild caramel malty aroma. Mellow yeasty, smooth caramel and light fruity flavour. Strong blond, almost triple like (no wonder it is added on RB as a Tripel...despite the name). Slight oxidation.

Orangish brown with a firm tan head. Sweet malts, grapes, berries, yeast and some spice. Carbonated body thats abit thin. Spices, sugary malts, dark ripened fruits, and some yeast. Finish has a nice bite. Real enjoyable; will be coming back to this.

(Bottle) Yellow colour with huge, white head leaving lots of lacing. Sediment in the bottom. Malty, floral nose with lemon zest, orange peel, spices (coriander?), jasmin and grass. Malty, fruity taste with orange, lemon, dried fruit, herbs and honey. Fiery alcohol shines through in the middle, giving way for a spicy, almost peppery, dry bitterness in the finish. Maybe not as complex as many other trappists, but with lots of character and punch. Nice beer.

33 cL bottle. BB 10/31/08. Aroma of malt and funky spice. A bit like a saison. A darkish golden color with a rocky white head that just won’t go down. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. The flavor is citric, acidic, followed suddenly by light malt and candi sweetness. Some light stone fruit develops after a bit. Then a little heat in the nose, and a dry, hoppy, fairly bitter finish. Amazingly tasty.

Brown with medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with overripe fruits and toffee. Sweet flavor with hints of dates, prunes, raisins, chocolate and toffee. Very clean with perfect balance and the alcohol is very well hidden. Lovely!
