16 oz. can. ”no Plum intended” stamped on the bottom. Lately hazy paint color. Aroma is plum purée and mild lactic acid. Plum is moderate with a mild lasting sour wheat finish. Mild acid hint. Cinnamon is hard to find.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. White head with medium retention recedes leaving scant spiders. Peel and pith aromas. Full with bitter pith, overripe fruit and hot caramel upfront turning to mild cardboard in the abrupt finish.

Can from the bodega down the street with the cheap gas. Canned 10/23/18 The real mystery is where is the haze? Almost brilliantly clear deep golden color with a small slowly receding bubbly white head. Earthy citrus and pine on the nose with a touch of perfume and alcohol. Flavor is earthy citrus pine and fruity with a hint of bready malt. Tasty IPA, I enjoyed it but not really a hazy NE IPA.

Bottle Bar East, Philadelphia can: pours light orange haze with a white head. Aroma is juicy citrus. Taste is on the more bitter end of NEIPA. Pretty unimpressive but fine.

Bottled 355ml. -from Weyermann Fan Shop Bamberg. Unclear brown coloured, small off-white head, dried fruits, caramel and alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, dried fruits, notes of spices and alcohol with rather sweet finish. In general this one is sweet but not so sweet I've expected.

Bottled 355ml. -from Weyermann Fan Shop Bamberg. Black coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, dried fruits, chocolate and marzipan in the nose. Sweet malty, light roasted, dried fruits, alcohol, notes of caramel and and touch of wood with slightly burnt malt and alcohol in the finish.

KØLF 191018. Black color with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, cellar notes, raisin, bread, cocoa, coffee, chocolate. Very nice beer.

16 oz. can. Can dat of 10-18-18. Deep orange color. Oh boy... aroma of baby aspirin, caramel, and light pine. Unfortunately, it smells just light the aroma. Pine does balanced but the sweetness but the aspirin kills the “whole” experience for me. It also does show the booze as it warms. Pretty rough.

16 oz. can. A near clear appearance! Ha ha ha ha! Flavor has light citrus, mild juice notes. Slight pine finish. Moderate bitterness. Not the best NEIPA out there but if you are introducing someone to bolder IPA’s... this might work.

Draught at Cambridge Common, 11/2/18.
Lightly hazy, bright, cantaloupe-golden with an off-white head atop that is small and sits at light cover.
Whole lotta overboiled C-hop, it smells like. Pine, aspirin, vegetal notes, heavy pepper and white grapefruit with tons of citrus rind. Malt behind it has a caramel and bread character without any of the sugar (which would probably actually help soften things). It's not boozy, but it's resinous as all hell....
In the mouth it's just an unbalanced mess of C-hops showcasing the worst of West Coast IPAs and feeling like 2002. A big reason why NE IPAs caught on is because of shit like this. And Smutty is a NEW ENGLAND brewery; why have they made like two NE IPAs??? How'd that go for them? Bankrupt. Anyways, this is just a mouthful of bitter C hop, pine resin, vegetal, peppery, overboiled hop character and too much specialty malt leading to not nearly enough balancing texture. I guess the alcohol doesn't seem like 9.5% here, as they claim. Good job with that....
