Cask at GBBF’17, day one, 08/08/17. Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is fruit rinds, Seville orange marmalade, spice, mellow rum oak. Taste comprises light charr, oak, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit crumble, trace of rum, fruit loaf. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff.

12 fl oz bottle from Hopsession, Osnabrück. Pours out pitch black, oily consistence, Mighty dark beige frothy head. Smells malty but also parts like buttermilk. Häää? Tastes totaly different. Sweet malty, dark berriefruity, choco, coffee, also some sweetness. Nice complex stuff.

It pours a clear gold with a 2 finger head of billowy foam.

The smell is a big dose of grapefruit and piney hops with some caramel malt lingering in the background. Nice nose indeed.

The taste has the big notes of grapefruit and pine up front but the caramel malt I noted in the nose has an even more solid presence in the taste. Is it perfectly balanced? No, but it certainly isn't one dimensional and that's a plus when it comes to how drinkable this DIPA is for me and the alcohol *does* give me some warming for sure but it isn't all encompassing and doesn't stop me from enjoying this drop. I can also taste some other fruit, maybe mango and tangerine? Nice.

Mouthfeel is on the thick side..very substantial and I'm liking that muchly. The carbonation is on the low side of medium and it finishes pleasingly bitter.

Btw, head retention is great and there's plenty of sticky lacing. Also, with the second pour, the brew became hazy.

Bottom line: A very good DIPA here that doesn't go overboard with the hops thanks to a good malt backbone. I enjoyed my session with this bottle and I think you will too.

Smoke and prune with a bit of caramel. Pours murky brown with decent head. Light sweet finish. Good balance and pretty well done. Floral aroma like dentist reception desks. Bottle.

bomber - Amber-orange pour with a very small head, aroma of dark fruit, malt, and yeast. The flavor is sweet and malty with caramel, a touch of fruit, Belgian yeast, and alcohol. Very good.

Hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of strong honey, caster sugar, apricots, peaches and a bunch of hops - deep and bitter, resinous hops - in a good way, of course. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich hop bite at first with some pine, resin, alcohol, then finishing with a bunch of fruits - pears, apples, apricots, plums and even peaches show through, with honey at the end, a lot of sweetness and ending with a good deal of malt for balance. Aftertaste shows some sugars, a light amount of the fruits, a lot of malt and even more hops - these are resinous and deep, but the honey shows through at the very end. Overall, a nice Imperial IPA with some honey flavours, a nice resinous bite, but a perfect balance of malt and hops - and the alcohol hits well on the end. Nice to try and well recommended if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Union Square, 14th Street), New York on 01-December-2017 for US$2,99 sampled a few hours later in my hotel room here in New York on 01-December-2017. Canning Date (Some Month) 19/2017 - The month is skewed, so you can't read it.

Pours slightly hazed dark gold into a tulip. Off-white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Slight vanilla and caramel aromas. Thick with dark pit fruit and caramel upfront turning to a sweet hot vanilla finish.

Pours hazy golden brown into a tulip. White head bubbles and disappears. Dark molasses and pit fruit aromas. Thick with hot caramel and vanilla upfront turning to dried pit fruit and molasses in the warming finish.
