For nearly twenty five years, our mission here at Smuttynose has remained the same: to brew the best beer we can in a way we can be proud of. That includes honoring New England’s rich beermaking history, respecting our environment, and playing an active role in our community.

We value creativity, quality, authenticity and sustainability, but it really boils down to making great beers to enjoy with friends and family. We hope you love drinking our beers as much as we love brewing them. Cheers!

0.33l bottle @ Hotel Room. This is a deeper colored brown one with a tall near fluffy light beige head. Smells almost more like an barley wine IMO. A really present malty sticky sweetness thats being backed up by a mild roastiness and chocolate. Really good smelling undoubtedly. It has a nice oily texture in the mouth and its about average on the carbonation. Chocolaty and cocoa-ish in the taste. Lots of nice bitter hops going on. Traces of licorice also. Really tasty and great with mac and cheese. 14.06.2015

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark fuscia color with a medium sized pink white head that left no lacing. He aroma was dryish and musty, egg white and was off. The flavor was dry and musty with egg white and tart berry. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy pale yellow with foamy white head, sweet malt aroma, medium carbonation, slightly sweet crisp malty taste, thin body, abrupt finish with malt aftertaste. A nice Pilsner.

Review from notes, six pack from Hannaford. Crystal clear deep golden color with a frothy bubbly white head. Rich bready toasty pilsner maltiness with bits of earthy floral and a hint of fruitiness. Pretty good Marzen, but not up to the standards of a true German version.

Bomber from the brewery. Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a decent sized short lived tightly bubbled white head. Sweet sugary bready maltiness with hints of apple, light fruit and a faint floral spicy hop. A hint on the sweet side, but clean and quite tasty.

From cask @ Blind Tiger. This is quite a straw yellow colored one this. Cloudy as heck and a small bug bubbled cask white head on the top. It has a mild orange zesty peppery aroma. Really mild though but there's also citrus tones. Quite a likable mild aroma on this one. Oh, like how this tastes! This is a really good cask beer. It's really nice and light on the mouth without being watery. Tastes super refreshing and this has to be within the top 5 over all time beers I've had that has the highest drinkability. There's lots of basil and herbs, soft orange zest, cask yeast and a nice peppery tail. Something you could easily have a few of without getting tired. 05.06.2015
