500ml bottle. Very pale yellow-tan. Excited carbonation, thin white head. Gross eastern European aroma, very extractalicious, with some faint honey sweetness. Really bad, but pretty unique. Wow. Dirty gross tones that have nothing to do with ABV. Gross putrid poisoned watered down apple cider. Painfully disgusting. A horrid creature. Holy shit this is horrendous.

Golden colour with no serious head. Fairly herbal hop aroma for a Polish beer. Light body, moderate bitterness. There is still a slightly doughy sweetness underneath. It’s ok. A slightly hoppier Polish pilsner, but not hoppy enough to get excited about.

Dark brown. Medium head. Sweet dunkel aroma with black sugars and lots of toffee. The character is burnt toffee...what is the theme here I wonder? There is clearly some funny bitterness but otherwise the beer is very sweet.

Whole Foods, Fairfax 500ml ($3): Pours a dark brown with a quickly dissipating light brown head. Aroma is a bunch of fruit and roasted malt. Beer itself is really sweet, even for a Baltic Porter. It wasn’t exactly cloying, but I can imagine that it would be for some people. There was some complexity in taste, and this was a welcome coming home present for myself after 70 Scandinavian beers.
