Bottle at GBBF 2006. I hadn’t realised the strength of this. Very deep ruby colour with some nice raisins and a bit of caramel. Bit milky. Amazing dark dried fruit in the mouth. Prunes, raisins, currants. Smooth and rather lovely. Some burntness. Rich. Like Christmas cake.

Bottled. Reddish, dark brown with a beige head. Roasted aroma with fruitiness, pear, and some alcohol. Quite weak aroma, and quite weak flavor, with chocolate and coffee dominating. It has some alcohol in the finish, but it is in general well hidden. Quite pleasant beer. (060616)

First ratingBottle from Swedish "Systembolaget" in July 2005.Ordered it to my local store for fun, thought it was gonna taste pretty awful. I was in for quite a surprise though, since I really liked this beer! My first thought was "can a porter taste like this?" Very dark/black color. Mix of sweet and a bit alcohol. Well balanced thugh and something I’ll enjoy drinking again. Only "bad" thing is that the label looks very cheap.8/4/7/4/15=3.8Second rating(50 cl bottle from Systembolaget)Probably one of the last they had before they replaced it with the 7.0% ABV version.Clear dark deep red color, tan head that is fast dissapearing. Buttery, sweet, alcohol and acidic scent. Buttery, alcohol. metallic and coffee taste. Smooth big mouthfeel, medium well balanced bitterness. Medium to low co2. Slight roasted aftertaste.7/3/8/4/15=3.7

A weird baltic porter in my opinion. Pours black, but thin. The smell is really malty especially for a porter. I mean that helps explain the high ABV but not very baltic to me..It is close to a mix between Scotch ale and porter. The body is kind of thin for something this strong. No actual taste in the beer that is discernable. A strong but not good baltic porter.

Bottle. Sweet liquorice aroma. Almost black colour. Very small head. Quite sweet flavour, a lot of liquorice here too. Low bitterness. Maybe a bit too sweet, but quite nice.

Deep brown, generous tan head.Strong metallic nose, not much else. Flavor is sickeningly sweet and sugary, light coffee. The overabundant sweetness makes it seem flat.

Bottled. Black opaque colour, brown foamy head. Chocolate and toffee in aroma along with roasted malt. Flavour is very roasted and bitter with hints of dark chocolate. Smoothens up a lot as it gets warmer. Some weird sweet flavour is also present.

Bottled (BB 10/2005)
Very dark ruby, creamy expresso head. Burnt malt aroma, slightly sugary - a bit similar to Zywiec Porter. Medium-bodied. Cold coffee, salted licorice powder. Soft palate - hides alcohol very well (actually some kick from alcohol would do good), good malty base but hop profile is weak. Far from complex and interesting Zywiec.
