Small offwhite head. Dark brown barely translucent body. Sweet massive licorice and malt aroma with chocolatey notes. Sweet, mild, rounded licorice taste with vague fruity banana notes. Dry roasty aftertaste. Very nice! (0.5l bottle at RBNAG’07.)

Bottle. Chocolate covered raisin aroma - light hint of astringency. Opaque black brown color with moderate tan head. Sweet brown sugar, chocolate-coffee malt flavor - just the light hint of astringency and alcohol. Unbelievably well hidden alcohol level - I would have bet that this wasn’t over 5%. An incredibly smooth, easy drinking baltic porter.

Aroma of toasted dark malt. Nearly opaque dark brown color with a tan head that is substantial. A bit thin in body. Starts with coffee, followed by toffee. Definite toffee candy sweet. The finish is not dry, and the toffee flavor persists. Interesting, but something of a one note. Not that there might not be hidden complexity, just not obvious to me.

500ml bottle sampled at a drinking session in Tromsø. Opaque dark brown body colour. Off-white head containing lots of bubbles. Aroma has got a dark malty profile. Taste like a kind of mouth-filling chocolate milk shake developing into flavour accents of sweet dark malts. Much too sweet and rather one dimensional for a porter (18.04.2007).

500ml bottle at London Drinker BF 07. Very dark ruby colour with bubbly dark beige head. Slightly buttery porter. Butter and some toasty aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly sticky in mouth, some charcoal towards the end. I like it. Bizarre, but flavoursome. 3.3/5.0 Re-rate bottle at Kent BF 07. Rich malts, liquorice, decent prickly hop on end. Very coffeeish. Beautiful coffee flavoured beer. Superb, slightly strong beer. Smooth and rather luscious.

Bottle: Pours a very dark brown with a medium brown, bubbly head that dissapates quickly. No real lacing to speak of. Nose is roasty, sweet of molasses, and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, more dark molasses sweetness, coffee, and hints of cocoa. A lingering, sweet finish. Hints of the alcohol can be detected, but this was very smooth and delicious.

Aroma of cloves, bananas caramel, and alcohol. Sweetish without being cloying. Dark with small head. Maltish finish, with alcohol warmth. I enjoyed this porter, but would not want more tnan one or two at a time.
