2011-09-05, draught at the brewpub in Lille, 6-3-6-2-12=29
Hazy blond color; creamy head. It has a light but delicate hoppy aroma. Mild malt flavor, dry, with some unmalted cereals; correct bitterness, but the structure gets weaker and weaker. Reasonably drinkable.

2004-10-30, draught at Les 3 Brasseurs Saint-Priest (Lyon), 3-2-4-2-7=18
Cloudy blond color. Poor lager, a bit smelly, like any other mainstream bottled one.

(Draught - mine brewed at Athus site, Belgium) Red-foxy, clear; virtually no head but yellowish rim. Even trying hard, I get nothing but a faint caramel aroma. Bitter, burnt-roasted grain flavour, with virtually no underlying back-up as malt, or such strange additions. Grassy aroma, very fresh, not to say green, and very, very empty mouthfeel, watery texture. I’ve just had table beer (=low alcohol) that had more taste, character and even more balls than this. Painful.

From the Strasbourg brewpub: Light fruit aroma. Red brown hue with some lace. Fruity strawberry flavors a bit chokolate. The balance is no good though. Weakbodied. Yeasty aftertaste.

From the Strasbourg brewpub: No aroma. Cloudy white, ok head. Weak taste - kind of watery. The brewpubs in Strasbourg seem to be student only places, which seems to have a bad effect on the beer quality.

Sampled draught at their Aubière location (France).
Very dark brown with beige head. Peaty aroma. Sweet and clean. Some malt flavour, but the body is thin, and some acidity reveals a beginning infection. As dull as the location in by a parking lot at a shopping centre by a highway in a grey suburb.

Sampled draught at their Aubière location (France).
Copper coloured. Neutral aroma. Dry and very roasty. Clean, hard mouthfeel. Rather bitter finish. Poorly structured and very plain. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bière Ambrée on 25 Apr 2009 at 12:06 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4.5. Original review text: Bottled. Clear amber, no head. Slight resiny nose. Sweetish and fairly light bodied. Simplistic clean fragile malt covered in a thin layer piney hops tha tleads to a resiny finish.
