Description
Former name until 2006: "Privatbrauerei Josef Sigl".

The Trumer private brewery, formerly the Josef Sigl private brewery, is located in Obertrum am See near Salzburg and was founded in 1601. In 2006 the name was changed to the current company name. The Trumer private brewery is an eighth generation family business. Beer has been brewed in Obertrum am See since 1601. The brewery has been owned by the Sigl family since 1775 and is currently managed by the eighth generation of Josef C. Sigl.

The brewery uses a tight and - probably - unique and (partly) certified brewing process with 100% natural hops, an open fermentation in open yeast vats and a process of slow brewing (they take the time to let the beer mature).

Bottle on wintersport holiday St. Anton. Clear golden color, full sized white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, malty lightly grainy bitter. Soft velvety texture, decent body, average carbonation. Okay.

Small white head over faintly hazy golden beer, finely carbonated. Rather neutral aroma, some pale malts and faintly green leaves. Sweet, cornflakes, pale sweet malts. Rather dull, and the - even not very active - carbonation lends some idea of acidity. Light body. Warming up, the aftertaste has a whiff of EU hops. A Zwickel might show some more attenuation, I think. Txs to Stef!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a small, white head. Greasy, hoppy nose. Light body, but not exactly thin. Light maltiness but super hoppy in both flavour and bitterness. Interesting. 061125

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a small, lacing, white head. Aroma of noble hops. Medium body, a dry maltiness, distinct skunkiness (think Steinlager) which I don't necessarily find unpleasant, metallic accents and a distinct bitterness. Finally a Pilsner that dares offering you a solid bitterness. 051025

Bottle. Clear gold with a proper white head. Very mild aroma of grains and malts. Taste of grains and malts as well. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced and harmless. Soft mouthfeel. Ok but I will never cease to be confused by this curious habit of calling a Helles a Märzen.
