Description
In 2013 we brewed beer for the first time in our first brewery in the Amsterdam Pijp. We now make award-winning beers, soft drinks and from beer what is left over we distil gin and gin again. We make everything ourselves, as local as possible and completely organic because that is better for our beer and for the planet. Our breweries are located in the most beautiful places in the middle of Amsterdam. Not at all efficient of course, but all the more fun!

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before May 2020. Clear, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, moderately fruity aroma of lemon peel, rhubarb and lime. Slightly sweet, moderately sour, a bit grainy, gently fruity taste of wheat, lemon peel and a touch of rhubarb, followed by a short, slightly tart, a bit minerally-salty finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Pleasant beer, too grainy maybe.

Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, sweet-and sour aftertaste, light bitter touch, slaty on the tongue, nice thirst quencer.

Murky dark blond with lots of gunk. Aroma and flavour have some stale cardboard notes. Some cakey residual sugars. Like a lager that has been left in the sun all day. Consumed 6 months prior best before date.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 28 Aug 2019) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with bread, citrus, yellow plums and a touch of salt. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, bread, peaches, plums and some salt. Hardly any bitterness. Light body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty with a light tartness and some salt coming through. Quite enjoyable.

Blikje bij Troost Westergas. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag.

Allemansvriend.

On tap at Troost - Westergas, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, burnt caramel and bready malt. Flavour is very malty, with lots of burnt caramel, bready malt and a little toffee. Rather harsh and lacking cohesion, but it's alright.
