Description
In 2013 we brewed beer for the first time in our first brewery in the Amsterdam Pijp. We now make award-winning beers, soft drinks and from beer what is left over we distil gin and gin again. We make everything ourselves, as local as possible and completely organic because that is better for our beer and for the planet. Our breweries are located in the most beautiful places in the middle of Amsterdam. Not at all efficient of course, but all the more fun!

On tap at Troost - Westergas, pours a clear copper golden with a medium beige head. Aroma reveals resinous hops, a little pine, and sweet bready malt. Flavour is fairy bitter, with piney hops, lots of earthy notes, and plenty of bready malt. Pine and bready malt on the finish, with moderate sweetness. Not wholly convincing but decent enough.

On tap at Troost - Westergas, pours a hazy pale golden blonde with a medium white head - doesn't look like a NEIPA. Aroma brings out earthy hops, moderate dankness, floral notes, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with bitter floral hops, earthy notes, and crisp biscuity malt. Doesn't taste like a hazy either, with a rather high bitterness, which is nice. There's not a whole lot of depth here though. Pleasant.

6.5
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7

On tap at Troost - Westergas, pours a deep dark murky reddish brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is loaded with lacto, black currant, pithy fruits, and passionfruit. Flavour is like a sour, pithy fruit juice, with passionfruit, black currant, and pithy citrus. Light-to-moderate sourness, finishing on citrus and passionfruit. Pleasant stuff.

On tap at Troost - Oud West, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out light lacto, citrus and salt in good collaboration. Flavour is quite salty upfront, with gentle citrus and lacto. The salt is really quite prominent, drowning out whatever other elements might be discernible otherwise. Pleasant.

On tap at Troost - Oud West, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out herbal notes, light grass, and straw. Flavour is quite herbal and vegetal, with grassy notes, straw and lots of herbal notes. Not what I seek in a pils. Too herbal.
