Bottle shared late night in the hotel lobby during RBWG 2015. Thankfully still some left after Trvlr did a job on it! Pours black-brown with a foamy tan head. Lots of bready dark malts in the nose, mellow roast, cocoa. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Basic chocolate malt finish, mild alcohol warmth, some eathy hops, wood. Nice.

Bottle - Tons of dark roast and almost berry notes. Jet brown with almost no head. Dark dry roasty notes. Bitter and roasty throughout.

Can shared during the first Late Nite session of RBWG 2015. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Nice dry pithy hop aroma. Clean flavor, ligh to medium sweet, with mild piney bitterness, dry bread, grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous to finish with prominent pithy citrus, orange, grapefruit. Solid.

Can thanks to DrSilverworm. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with small off white head. The aroma is strong fruity hop and wet biscuit. Thin mouth, strong wet hop, sweet malt, lingering bitterness.

Can thanks to DrSilverWorm. Pours a cloudy gold with small off white head. The aroma is fruity hop and mosiac. Medium mouth with strong mosiac and light resin finish. Very nice.

Sample at The Ohio Taproom. The beer pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium thick and foamy ivory white head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, grassy hops and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some lovely light lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell, hot damn, if this wasn’t nice, it had a super nice roasty smooth coffee with a fairly light chocolate to mocha flavoring. Light vanilla slightly settles the aroma nicely.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine and provided a super nice glazing of chocolate coating the vanilla and mocha. There’s a long lingering robust and smooth chocolate to coffee aftertaste leading to a not as dry as expected finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Porter. If I lived in their distro, I’d be seeking this beer out more than enough.

The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber color with a nice transparency about it. A two finger white foamy head dissipated after about a minute. Fairly thick foamy lacing stuck nicely around the glass.
The smell had a deep sweet citrus to piney sweet and bitter grapefruit. A nice sweet caramel allocates itself nicely in the background.
The taste was mainly sweet but carried a nice settling bitterness to round out the flavor. A nice sweet sticky fruity aftertaste leads into the finish, it’s not as dry as the can says so but that doesn’t bother me.
