(On tap) Hazy, pale amber with a small, off-white head. Malty aroma. Medium body with marked sweet and malty presence. Rather vague smoked notes and a subdued bitterness. A very, very mild smoked. It’s quite obvious that Copenhagen is a far distance from Bamberg. Apparently the smoked malts are home made based on beech chips. 200606

Tap @ Brewpub. Hazy dark amber, no head. Malty light sugarylightbodied. Fruity minerally aftertaste. Belgian? Really?

Tap @ Brewpub. Herbal hop nose. Hazy amber, no head. Somewhat muddled up US hops dominate. Ok body. Herbal green aftertaste.

(Draught @ Brewpub) Black with a creamy head. Creamy, roasty aroma with notes of vanilla. Well roasted and well balanced flavour, very drinkable.

(Draught @ the Brewpub) Dark red-ish amber with a firm head. Hoppy aroma. Big hoppy bitterness. A drinkable IPA but there’s better examples out there.

Draught. Burnt plastic aroma. Clear dark brown colour. No head whatsoever. Tastes like burnt plastic too, only with some bitterness. I guess this was off.

A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is roasted with a combination of anise and licorice. The flavor is sweet with notes of licorice mixing with the notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry end.

(On tap) Amber golden with a slight haze and a handsome, creamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose. Medium body with a solid malty base and a marked, bitter hoppy finish. 290506

(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a handsome, creamy, light brown head. Extreme licorice aroma, completely overpowering the burned malt. Medium-bodied, marked burned malts and an extreme spiciness from the star aniseed. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a beer with this much licorice flavour. A light underlying acidity. Very special indeed. 210506

[Draught at Københavnske Øldage] Amber colour, no head. Sweet with notes of buckwheat and flowers. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. More easy going than interesting.
