bottle - Pours amber with a one finger head and a rich caramel malt aroma. The flavor is sweet malt with minimal hops. It’s simple, a little thin, but fairly good. It was also on sale for four bucks for a six pack and it’s pretty good for a cheap beer.

Standard brown ale. Clear, reddish-brown pour with a short head. Aroma is slightly nutty and slightly sweet hinting of caramel. The flvaor is midly bitter with some sweet backbone. Grainy flavor in the finish. Dry. Simple and just OK.

12 oz. bottle. Pizza dough smell under the cap. Pours incredibly pale, and does not get much darker in glass, where a thin film of foam fails to cover it up. Mostly fizzy soda taste, as expected, very watery mouthfeel, though not as foul as other lights I’ve tried. What little malt is here is matched by what little hops are present. Well, tasteless beer still scores better than bad-tasting beer.

Pour is a copper with a brown head. Aroma is decent enough with a balance of hops and malts with the hops coming out semi-strong. Flavor is some brown sugar and caramel malts with the hops again showing up in the flavor. Can’t give this one to bad a score as it almost tastes how a pale ale should.

Pour is a orange with a white head. Aroma is a bit of grainy malt with no hops present. Flavor is a toasted biscut with some lingering hops. Nothing to go out and find and not really in the horrible catagory but it does have some promise of being a good beer.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is faint but some wheat and yeast are there. Flavor is again faint with some bitter lemon and some sugar. I wanted to like this one but its not to be.

Bottle. Sweet corn syrup malt aroma. Reddish amber with nice big head. Initially a corn syrup malt sweetness with a mild hops finish. A bit too sweet for the style imho but otherwise a decent beer.

12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. When you remove the cap you get an interesting whiff. The aroma is a little earthy, as if it had rocks or bricks mixed in there. The smell continues with background hints of liquid permanent hair treatment. I’ve never smelled anything like this before. The look of this beer once poured into my clear stein is lighter pale yellow leaning toward brown. It looks somewhat like ginger ale with it’s sparse carbonation. The taste is not sweet, has flavors of wet hay or pond water, in a good way if that is possible. Has more personality than a gentleman’s lager, perhaps it seems a little unrefined and coarse. The feel of this brew is welcomed above average carbonation somewhat like the fizz of tonic water. Finish is a little chalky and surprisingly has an extremely mild industrial linger that lasts for a while after the last sip. This brew has the oddest taste and is the least enjoyable when compared to the other Point brews I’ve sampled. Certainly is unique in the lager arena!

Brown 12 oz twist off cap. I’ve always had bon ton beers from point. Twist off the cap and you get an uncooked bread dough aroma. The appearance of a ubiquitous pale yellow american beer greets you as you pour it into the glass. No head just a ring around the edge of the glass and a thin froth on top of the brew. Taste is that of a gentleman like lager, agreeable and refreshing. A diaphanous hint of metallic lays in the background. Enjoyable carbonation. After each taste I again get that clean metal sensation. In the aroma a can now detect some of that metal in there too. Finish is typically clean with a medium low bitterness. Pretty enjoyable and about average for a lager.

Point Honey Light, 12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. Twist off the lid and you get a slight aroma of honey along with the regular yeasty beery smells. The aroma is perhaps a little more yeasty than usual. Pour it into a glass and you get the ubiquitous pale yellow american beer color. The head is a froth of white. There are many bubbles rising from within, very nice random streaming. The initial flavor impact is that of your typical mild lager, friendly and well behaved. I do not taste much honey sweetness in there if any. Carbonation is above average in a good way. Cannot really detect any negative attributes about this beer. With this beer you have the opposite of oppression, pellucid propinquity. So many big beers get in your face, this one just plain wants to get along with you. Easy to drink and repeatable as refreshment. It seems the alky content is either well hidden or just plain low, who knows when it is not listed on the bottle or on the site? Even after drinking half the glass, the streaming continues within and the carbonation is still present. With many other beers the carbonation fades as you near the bottom of the glass. Undoubtedly this beer is filiopietistic in the way it follows the pale yellow american lager style. The finish lacks any bitter linger and is very enjoyable at that. Not as good as Schmidts, Carlsberg or Miller Lite, but pretty good stuff. Much better than heinie light and yuengling light.
