Description
Christian Bourganel, entrepreneur and innovator, lover of beer and Ardèche, was considering a solution to promote these two elements. After a few months of reflection and work with the IFBM (Institut Français de Brasserie et Malterie) in Nancy, the fruit beers of the Ardèche were born in 1997, initially brewed by the Brasserie Castelain, but the stated objective was the creation of a micro-brewery in Ardèche.

The installation of the brewery in Vals les Bains is done in 2000 and on June 1, 2000, the Brasserie Bourganel offered its first Ardèche brew to local customers. Faced with the success of these beers, the Bourganel Brewery acquired new, more efficient equipment in 2004, and since then, each year, expansions have been carried out. In February 2006, the brewing room was changed and fermentation and aging tanks were added to increase the production capacity to 4,000 hectoliters per year.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy green coloured brew with taste of thyme, thea, peppermint and lemon. Kind a refreshing but the combination of flavors and aromas is not for me.

330ml bottle from Lidl I do believe. Pours a deep amber brown, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and nutty chestnut. Strong caramelly malty feel to taste with what I assume to be chestnut providing a nutty herbal side. Ok.

24/VIII/24 - 33cl bottle @ La Gare Aux Saveurs (Beaulieu, FR), BB: V/2025 (2024-799)

Pretty clear blond gold beer (doesn’t look like a witbier/blanche at all), small creamy off-white head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity touch, very floral, a bit yeasty, a hint of citrus. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of liquorice, some aniseed, a bit oxidized, bitter touch, a bit soapy, banana. Aftertaste: malty, a bit yeasty, spicy touch, meh, not bad but not really good either.
