22Oz Bottle Pours a deep clear, redish brown with a dense off white head leaving spotty lacing. Aroma is some of the common spice, clove but fruitier and sweeter than some of the other Belgians I’ve had. Taste is quite different. Woody, raisons, a little smokey and musty. Like old barrels. The ABV is hidden well, and the feel is medium as far as thickness but very smooth. Lingering aftertaste is a bit cardboardy and earthy.

Bottle Pours a very dark reddish black witha very thick off white head that is still there after several minutes. The lacing almost completely coates the insie of the glass. Aroma is of a dark roast, yeast and malt. Tastes dark and smokey with nutty yeasty smokey darkness. A very creamy smooth mouth feel and a somewhat bitter finish.

Draft. Finally got my first New Belgium at Soulard Ale House in St. Louis, and this one because they were out of Fat Tire. But this does not disappoint. A deep brown beer with a stouty head. Very estery like a dunkel weizen. Smoothness almost cancels out roastiness. Despite being average in ABV, it had a good alcohol burn, too. And the lacing leaves nice, regular rings down the entire length of the glass.

BottlePours a bright clear golden orange with a lively but small and quickly dissipating head. Very little lacing and pretty low on the fiz. Aroma is plain and subtle. Yeast and malt and slight hops. Flavor is also very mild, plain even. Wheat bread, a bit of malt, very low hops and i would have guessed even lower than the 4% ABV listed. Finish is light and smooth. Unremarkable but fairly tasty and easy.

Bottle Pours very light yellow.amber, with a modest frothy head that quickly subsided. Little lacing. Aroma was light slightly sweet, wheat and yeast. A pleasant refreshing brew.

Bottle. Slightly dark amber with a small head. Fruity and malt flavor with a little cocoa and a light citrus. Easy to drink, but nothing special.

Mahogany color that an average sized head can be coaxed from with a good pour. Nice complex aroma of malt, dried fruit, and yeast. Full well rounded flavor. Not a bad Dubbel. Re-rate I dropped it a point each on palate for being thinner than some I’ve tried since and a point overall.

Bottle Pours a common looking slightly hazy, light amber. A modest fizzy that dissapated after a moment leaving a little lacing. Aroma is swet, fruity, a bit of spice. Busy. Flavor is a medley of tastes. Cloves, floral, a bit sweet, a little malty and hops. The after taste is slightly darker and woody. Finish is smooth a heavy. In a good way. Abbey Tripels are a good thing.

On Tap Arrived with a nice head that stayed for a few minutes. The lacing was very robust, nearly coating the glas as I drank it down the frst few inches. A medium unfiltered amber and the smell was faint and pleasant, sweet, malty and yeasty. Yes it was sweet, creamy, smooth and soft. Very tasty. I had this in a bottle before and this time was much better. Palate was thick, creamy, smooth and a bit heavy. Was pleasently surprised due to previous experience.

I guess i was expecting a lot from a brewery called new belgium and my expectations got the better of me. This beer was low on taste, body and aroma. It did not differentiate itself at all. I was highly disappointed.
