After many years of brewing and the many awards that have adorned Haymarket Beer, Peter L. Crowley understands a thing or two of what makes a great beer. We named our company – Haymarket Beer Company – in honor of those ideas and the people who took pride in them and worked hard to protect them. (That’s a great story, by the way, and you should read more about it.)
We’ve built Haymarket out of everyday people – office workers and school teachers, stonemasons and police officers, plumbers and postal workers – with one promise: making great beer for great beer drinkers. It means that even as we grow, that we never lose sight of what got us where we are today – each other.
Forgive us for getting mushy – this kind of stuff doesn’t come out well through a computer screen. Come and see us the next time you’re in town. We’ll show you what we mean.

On tap at Haymarket - Chicago, pours A clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma is not pleasant: there's pineapple, rum, and cloyingly sweet syrupy fruits. Flavour is god awful, with cloyingly sweet syrupy notes — Jesus Christ, this is bad. This is just cloyingly sweet rum and pineapple. Damn is this bad.

On tap at Haymarket - Chicago, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma is dry, with spicy Belgian yeast, bready malt and toasted caramel. Flavour is pretty awful, with syrupy caramel, toffee, amen Belgian yeast. Syrupy sweet and lacking anything whatsoever reminiscent of a proper quad. This is truly shit.

Clear deep coppery body, thin cream head. Aroma nutty caramel. Body has a sharp, rather fruity and off-putting husky start, ale-like in its initial aggressive spiciness, but settles into tobacco and raisin. A bit of an outlier.

Single can from Binny's, dated NOV0121. Slightly hazy amber pour with, yes, a tinge of honey gold. Spongy head about 2 fingers think. The nose has light malts to it and a bit of oats, I think. Taste? Well, I do in fact pick out some honey right up front. I can even lick some honey taste off my lips after sipping. Malts complement the background, and the hops keep things a little prickly on my tongue. Served nice and cold, it's pretty refreshing. Hope this stays around as a regular beer.

Aroma of bananas and other tropical fruit along with clove and slight funk. Taste is the typical sweet wheat Hefeweizen flavor but with added tropical fruit. Creamy feel, spicy and funky finish. Some mango underneath.
