Fiskåbanen 010219. Golden-orange color with a white head. Aroma is coriander, wheat, oranges. Flavor is coriander, wheat, oranges, banan, cloves, citrus. Nice beer.

Pour a clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma of coriander and light spices. Taste is malty and sweet, distinct earthy notes. Palate includes orange and a lingering cinnamon note on the nose. Light for the style.

Bottle: Clear, deep copper with a smooth beige head. Caramel, ginger, nutmeg scent. Caramel malt, cola flavour…...a decent amount of ginger/raw cinnamon bitter. Not too bad, just a little weak. Better as it warms, of course.

Cloudy dark yellow with creamy foam. Slight banana bread aroma. Sweet and creamy wheat beer taste with a spicy and slightly funky finish. Nice for the style.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/25/2019. Pours crystal clear medium orange/amber/light copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, peach, pear, red apple, cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, roast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, peach, pear, red apple, cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of banana, bubblegum, roast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and cinnamon, ginger, peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, peach, pear, red apple, cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, coriander, peppercorn, clove, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is a delicious Belgian winter warmer. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, dark/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Really well balanced between Belgian yeast complexity, spices, and nicely rich malts; with solid hop presence. Not overwhelming on any aspect. A very enjoyable offering, and impressively well made style example.
