About
Crooked Stave Brewing Company is an artisan microbrewery in Denver, Colorado. It was founded by beer lover and beer brewer Chad Yakobson. The establishment of Crooked Stave was the result of Chad’s years of travel and studies about beer brewing abroad. His study of Master of Science in Brewing and Distilling at a university in Scotland gave him the expertise to set up his own brewery. Crooked Stave brewery is known for their brewing specialty in Brettanomyces fermentations and barrel-aged sour and wild ales. Crooked Stave Brewing Company is home to some of the finest sour beers. Some of its remarkable beers are the Crooked Stave Surette, Crooked Stave Vieille and Crooked Stave St. Bretta.

Can. Hazy golden beer with a cream head. Tart and light sour aroma with peach. Sour and peach flavor with light oak. Medium bodied. Sour and peach linger with light acetic notes and light oak.

750 ml c&c bottle. Clear yellow pour(initially later pours off the same bottle were cloudy) with a small white head that has fair retention. The aroma is light with grains, lemony citrus and some oak. The taste is lemons, oak, straw and some vinegar. The palate is a bit oily with soft carbonation. Finishes long and acidic with vinegar on the end. Overall: Interesting concoction, paired well with some cheddar cheese. Bottle says ABV is 6.5%

Can from Tavour. Pours ruddy amber with a large creamy/foamy beige head. Aroma is bready with toffee notes. Med body. Flavor is toffee/biscuity with some honey (detectable on my lips even) and what might be a small amount of Noble hop. Pretty good lager.

Pours black, super intense, no head. Scent is extremely full, roasty, maple, bit BA heath. Taste is ful, super thick, mample, sugar. Burnt sugar, thick and sweet, bit unbalanced. Very mild touch of CO2, base seems a bit simple, strongly uplifted by the BA, but not enough to make it stand out between the worlds' best.

Murky yellow colour, small white head. Some pineapple and grapefruit in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Citrus, apricot, low bitterness, only touch of Sabro. Quite simple NEIPA, not too sweet at least.

Can 355ml (Alko web Crooked Stave Juicy West ABV 6.0%) Hazy pale yellow colour, small steady white head. Citrus, tropical fruits in the nose, doesn't smell very fresh. Medium-bodied. Citrus, apricot, lime zest, pale malts. Not a NEIPA good, but lacks real WC character. Maybe when it is freshier?
