500ml bottle. Deep dark brown body. Light brown filmy foam. Dark chocolate aroma. Moderate palate with an overall impression of spicy maltiness. Dark coffee with supporting hints of dark fruits can also be spotted. A rather harsh taste makes it a bit out of tune, but still worth drinking (Moritz Cafe am Rathausplatz in Ingolstadt, 23.06.2007).

Bottle. (as König Ludwig Weissbier Hell) Unclear, orange weizen with a too small, white head. Banana, hops and some cloves in the aroma. A bit sugary flavor, with banana, citrus-notes and spicyness. Mellow, but a bit gassy mouthfeel. Spiced, lightly banana-ish finish. Not a bad hefe, but it could use a bit more pronounced flavor. (070527)

Bottled. Cloudy pale yellow, creamy head. Papery nose. Sweet and light bodied with light estery banana flavour. Thin and lightly metallic. No bitterness. Too light and with too diluted flavours to make it a plausible alternative.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours an unclear orangey golden with an off-white head. Fat banana aroma. Solid body with lots of sweetish banana, cloves and yeast. A whiff of phenols. The finish is sweet. Quite lovely. 120507

Bouteille, courtoisie de Jean-Marc G. . De couleur dorée et légèrement voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (bananes et agrumes), de blé, léger de gomme balloune, d’épices (clou de girofle) et de houblon herbeux (herbe mouillée) aux notes florales ainsi que des notes de pain. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-fort et légèrement croustillant ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse et aqueuse. Goût de levures fruitées (citron et zest, moyen de bananes) et moyennement épicé (clou de girofle, notes de coriandre) avec des notes de gomme balloune lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût asséchant de blé accompagné d’un goût de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux (gazon mouillé) aux petites notes florales ainsi qu’un goût de levures. Post-goût moyen aux notes sèches, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux, de levures, de blé et fruité (zest de citron, pelures de bananes).

As Konig Ludwig Weiss. Aroma of banana, a bit of yeast, and something of pilsener hop. Cloudy gold color with a ferocious white head that does a little lacing. Starts with medium body, banana, more banana, then yeast and some spice. More than clove. The carbonation renders it nearly chewy. Then it thins, and the finish is clovy spice, in a light way, followed by watery banana, and maybe a bit of hop. Very unbitter finish. Very good ale. Real ale by the way.

Va BF 07 Draft: Lemon and marshamallow aroma. Cloudy golden color, no head. Bubble gum and molasses flavor, no finish. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Clear amber brown color with a average frothy fair lacing mostly diminshing off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, malt sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
