Description
The Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg was established in 1871 by Sigmund von Willibald. The Von Willibalds owned the castle and brewery till 1917 when the premises were acquired by the Schülein family. The Schülein heirs sold the castle and brewery in 1954 to the Wittelsbach family. The König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg continues the 800-year tradition of brewing of the Wittelsbach dynasty. Prince Luitpold of Bavaria started in the 1970s to turn the small brewery in Kaltenberg Castle into a modern company.

The castle still houses part of the brewing installation of the König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei. 100,000 hectoliters of beer are brewed here every year. But most activities of the company are located in the large modern brewery in Fürstenfeldbruck. Since 2001 the König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg has been a 50/50 joint venture with Warsteiner.

Barva svetle zlatava. Pena nizka, brzo pryc. Vune slad - neco takoveho kouroveho funky. Chut sladova, trocha toho funku, tezko vydefinivat. konec suchy trocha medovy trocha kovovy. Telo stredne plne. Horkost nizsi stredni. Ma to trocha vady, ale da se.

I drank this beer at Eurodisney Village. In my opinion, it is a regular lager, on the German way, malty, bready, few hop, refreshing, 08.03.17, in family, average beer, industrial food, expansive and not good.

Pint at the German gymnasium in King's Cross. A straight down the line and very good weissebeer. Drinkable and went perfectly with the shank.

Keg at Waterloo Tap. Hazy-opaque amber. Foamy white head. Aroma has sweet cheical banana and cloves. Citrus edge. Flavourwise it has an initial tangy l8ght medium sourness - citrus with added cloves. A hint of artificial banana in the underbelly. Chewy malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation attempts some fizz. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Overly polite Hwfe.

Amber colour, hazy, large frothy head that stays for a while. Aroma is lots of banana, also some lemon, white bread. Light bitterness, slight sweetness. Medium body, lively carbonation. Uncomplicated but balanced and flawless.

16oz can. First time having it in the can, the bottle is one of my favorite stateside German Hefes. Bottle tone is a little brighter, bit still a classic, easy drinking Weissbier. Ridiculously sessionable. Good.
