Can. Golden beer with a dense off-white, nitro-head. Sweet, fruity aroma and a flavor that is quite light and fruity. Quite thin body and it leaves a bitter and dry finish. Some metal too. Not bad, just a bit boring. (060404)

on tap-pours a creamy, retaining offwhite head. Color is copper with effervescence. Aroma is Slight malt. Taste is malt, cider. OK effervescence.

Can 0,5l. 4,75%. Clear brown golden. Creamy head. Pretty appearance. Some fruity smell and taste. Very smooth. Hardly any bitterness. No carbonation. Some pub-beer feeling.

Has a smooth and creamy mouth with little carbonation and not much bitterness. Taste is sweet and of malts with caramel and fruit. Not bad, just not my cup of tea.

Medium, white, creamy head with some larger bubbles atop light brown body. Faint, mellow, fruity aroma with soapy notes. Mild, sweetish, malty taste with a nicely bitter, rounded aftertaste with notes of fruit. Mouthfeel is initially creamy, then more watery. Bitterness lingers. A decent bitter. (0.5l can.)

Bottled. Don’t know if it is the brewery or the lack of cellaring, but this fresh bottle is too much on the alcohol side. Other than that, it is a little sharper on the edges, but the aroma and flavor is very much the same. My rating on the fresh bottled would be 6-3-6-4-13-3.2. (060712) [br][br]Bottled. I had this one in my celler for a couple of years, and before that it has been in two other cellars where it has probably been stored at almost room-temperature. There’s no date-marking on the bottled, it’s very dusty, and Whitbread is noted as brewer. The aroma is lovely, almost like a discount-version of Thomas Hardy. Sweet malts, prunes and alcohol is the most noticables. It looks pleasant with its copper color and an almost non-existing off-white head. It has some floaties, and I don’t think that looks too good, but it is as expected. It has a vinous and yet sweet flavor, light roasted, burnt sugar and alcohol. A bit too much on the alcohol, though. Sweet, medium to full body and an strong but yet mellow alcohol finish. Definately not one to quench thirst with, but sitting down by the fire with it is nice. Can. Nice white good fully lasting head. Microhead due to plasticball. Week to no aroma, average falcorfinish, OK bitter. Soft carbonated, but a bit watery.

pint can - I’m really quite fond of Boddingtons, especially given how low the rating is here. It’s got a moderate, long lasting head, nice lace. Flavor has a light bitterness with a low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Smooth and pleasant, try a pint or three.

No head; clear brown body. Strong harmonic aroma of lacquer and sherry. Strong taste of fruit, perhaps apple, and port. No aftertaste to speak of. Slight bitterness. Very nice. One to sip. (On bottle.)
