Pours a clear mahogany with a ruby hue and a small beige head. The aroma is dark berries, sweet sherry, and sweet dark malts. A moderately sweet taste, sweet dried fruit, dark berries, pear, toasted malts, and light woody spice flavours with a bittersweet finish.

[50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell.] A bright golden amber pour with a ring of white head and gentle carbonation; aroma of malt and orchard fruit; malty taste with some biscuit and red berries; then a dry finish with a little spicy bitterness. A pleasant old fashioned bitter.

Cask at Bear & Billet, Chester. Pours golden amber with minimal foamy almost white head. Just fome floral hops in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with apples very much to the fore, alongside floral hops, summer fruits and traces of citrus and yeast. The pple dominance lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is an unusual and interesting beer – not sure it’s really an IPA but it doesn’t really fit any other style either. I quite like it, but I can tell some others wont.

500ml bottle on 8th June 2024 (BBE April 2025), at home. Clean amber body, off-white crown. Nice malty base with a good hop bitterness and hints of orchard fruits. I also had a hand-pulled cask pint of this on 13th September 2024 in a local pub, scored the same.
