Can from CBC - Westford. Lightly hazy, cola brown, thin cap of head, trace lacing. Aroma is strong malt and raisin. Taste is strong, earthy, caramel malt, late raisin. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Good to finally have this legacy beer. Good balance and strength but not so unusual anymore.

16 oz can shared by tfontana. Thanks for the opportunity! Deep brown color with small tan head. Aromas is toffee, dark bread, raisins. Flavor is the aroma and mildly sweet. Medium bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel. I am sure this was much more impressive 20 years ago. Now it is just good.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours pale gold with minimal foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma has floral hops, citrus and some grainy traces. In the mouth there is a brief initial bout of sweetness before it is swamped by tangy bitterness. Flavour has floral hops, citrus, lemon and tangerine. Finish is slightly dry. This is reasonable if a little bland.

Bottle from Nisa Upper Beeding in West Sussex. Opaque light chestnut brown. Thick frothy foamy off-white head. Aroma has sweet caramel and berries with a sourer berry edge. Gluey and jammy. Flavourwise it's more muted than the aroma suggested it'd be. Tangy sour berries. But with a sugary watered down element. Sherbert finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. A promising enough start but eventually feels watered down. But a 4.7% Old Ale...
