Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours pale gold with minimal foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma has floral hops, citrus and some grainy traces. In the mouth there is a brief initial bout of sweetness before it is swamped by tangy bitterness. Flavour has floral hops, citrus, lemon and tangerine. Finish is slightly dry. This is reasonable if a little bland.

Bottle from Nisa Upper Beeding in West Sussex. Opaque light chestnut brown. Thick frothy foamy off-white head. Aroma has sweet caramel and berries with a sourer berry edge. Gluey and jammy. Flavourwise it's more muted than the aroma suggested it'd be. Tangy sour berries. But with a sugary watered down element. Sherbert finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. A promising enough start but eventually feels watered down. But a 4.7% Old Ale...

Clear brown pour with a small tan head: aromas of caramel (somewhat dominating), salt and milk. Taste is caramel, cream/milk, salt, (roasted) cocoa. OK overall, but not mindblowing. A higher ABV could have been interesting.

500ml bottle, picked up from Sainsbury's Broadstairs. Drunk at home in France. Dark brown appearance, good off-white head. Lovely dark toffee character, light and breezy but really quite good for an AF. Would choose this over the abundance of thin bitter tasteless AF pales.

Rocky white head on a clear copper coloured body.
Punchy hop & malt aroma - proper 70's Bitter aroma.
Medium bodied, smooth with a dry back.
Malt, toffee, caramel, tea & spiced berry tastes with a long bitter finish.
Proper good Yawkshire Bitter - It's all in the water.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 16 Aug 2025) Golden amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy offf-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, grapefruit, grass and fresh hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of crisp-bread, citrus, grapefruit and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, dry. Smooth and refreshing. Quite nice.
