Description
T&R Theakston Ltd is an independent, family brewing company founded in 1827 located in the Yorkshire Dales market town of Masham, North Yorkshire. The company is controlled and run by direct family descendants of the founder Robert Theakston. Theakston is one of Britain’s oldest established family brewing companies.
In 1987 Theakston was taken over by Scottish & Newcastle, core beers being brewed at Tyne Brewery. In 2003 the Family bought the company back and moved all production back to Masham.

Clear amber gold with a chill haze, a creamy white head and a soft biscuit malt aroma. Fresh and a touch zesty, chewy biscuit malt, a hop kick, some citrus bitterness and a dry finish.

Cask at Crafty's, Darlington. Gluten Free. Black-brown colour, biege foam head leaving lacing and aroma of citrus, hops, roast hint. Taste is malty, caramel, slight roasty, dried fruit notes, with pine and citrusy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying tangy hoppy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable BIPA.

Cask gravity at Triggers Broom St Peter's. Dark brown beer. Thin beige head a little flat. Bit the malt flavour us god. Some sharpness on tje finish. Bit agricultural.

Handpull cask at the Town Hall Tavern, Manchester. Very translucent mid-brown with a small and quickly dissipating buff-coloured head. Malty aroma qith piney and lightly fruity hops. Hints of sarsaparilla. Bitter taste with a nice sweet caramel note just near the bstart of the sip. Watery body, soft carbonation. Grew on me.
