Halifax Beer Festival 2023. Very dark ale. Strength infused but palatable wooden cask version of this brew. Its barrel ageing is evident and proceedings don't quite feel its strength.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a golden yellow with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Good start but it’s downhill from there. Aroma has floral hops and hints of stewed apples. In the mouth it starts off sweet and juicy but very quickly underlying bitterness makes itself known and rapidly increases. Flavour has melon and mango, and later floral hops and grapefruit can be detected leading to a sticky and sweet finish. Not a bad beer, but not for me at all.
