Description

750 ml bottle from Country Club Liquors. Huge gusher after I had cooled it to 50-55 F. Lost 2/3s of the bottle. Doesn’t seem infected , just very over carbonated. Nose of sweetness, light floral hops, pears, and spiciness. Cloudy golden orange with a huge off white head. Flavor has a slight bitterness and tartness, lightly sweet fruitiness, yeast, candi sugar, and spices. Finish a light bitterness. Would be pretty good if I got a whole glass to drink. My dealer said after i called about it that they had a couple of bottles with seeping caps they had to return so it’s way overcarbonated!!! Very expensive at $17 for 250ml of beer I get to drink.

Pours brilliant gold with thin off white head. The aroma is fruity with apple and apricots mixing with wheat notes, spicy yeast and lemon acidity. The taste is refreshing with light colored fruit and yeast and wheat notes. Just like the nose I get a bit of lemon along with a sense of wheat filling in into the finish.

750ml bottle bought at GBBF 08 and enjoyed for more than one hour up north in Tromsø on a dark New Years Eve. The wrapped paper label contains the 6.9% ABV information, and that this is Speciaal Eindejaar Saison bottled in October 07. Pours a cloudy, golden body under an one-finger, fluffy head. Nice lacings on the glass. Fresh fruity smell with underlying spices. Rich and complex flavour of spiced, wooden dry fruits with notes of sappy oranges, wheat and herbs. Bittersweet endnotes with a discreet yeasty touch beneath. It gives, nonetheless, a rather candy sweet feeling in the mouth. Dry, oily texture. Well bodied [Rating no. 2033, and my last one in 2008].
