Slightly hazy gold, white head. Aroma of hops, tropical fruit, malts, honey, grass, light spices. Bitter flavour, hops, grapefruit, malts. Medium body. Lingering hop bitter finish, tropical fruits.
Nice brew, decent bitterness, refreshing. It does feel to be a bit on the safe side for a dipa though.

Bottle as a road soda, directly from the bottle so I won’t comment on the appearance. Aroma is grapefruit upfront, with tropical fruit, pine, caramel and citrus. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow to orange with a medium to big white head. Smells quite nice! Fruity, fresh, hoppy, floral.. Lovely. Tastes hoppy, fresh, some pine, grapefruit and lovely bitter. Great brew! Medium body (even though it?s only 4.9%), great carbo. It could’ve been a bit more crisp.. That would make it evwn nwtter for me, but I have no idea how that should be achieved.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin tan head, no lace and a slightly oily consistency. The aroma is liquorice and strong bourbon. The flavour is strong bitter, with the bourbon quite dominant once again which sadly seems to mask any other flavours that the base beer once had. I get the feeling that there may have been some bourbon left in the barrel before the beer was added! It’s a great beer, but I prefer bourbon barrel aged beers with a creamy, oily texture and with the bourbon sitting there in the background, but with this beer the bourbon is right there up front. I’m no whisky drinker though. If I was then maybe I would feel differently.

Bottle, split with Josh at the Cask, Pimlico 13/06/13. Mid black with a big frothy tan head which retains well. This chap looks the bollocks ! Nose is roast malt, oats, bitter chocolate, bowl of hot porridge with a few blocks of dairy milk dropped in, boozey notes. Taste comprises chocolate, oats, grain, earthy, sugars, molasses, ash. Dull bodied with fine carbonation, dry roast finish. A real looker and a solid enough impy.

Bottle at Rooie Dop, Utrecht at the RBESG 2013 opening night. Poured a deep mahogany with a broken tan head. The aroma is a weak dusty malt with some citrus notes in the background. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and liqourice in the finish. There is some alcohol in there, but it stays well in the background. I really liked this beer.

Bottle from Rooie Dop, Utrecht at RBESG 2013. Poured a cloudy deep copper with a bubbly white head. The aroma is rich hops and fruit leading to a medium bitter, hoppy, grassy slightly spicy flavour. The alcohol is evident but its well controlled and adds to the flavour. A super beer. I’d like to taste one that is a little cooler. It might suit the beer.
