Originally rated June 2009. Well, Lakeport has re-released this Light version of the Brava (they had a few years back). At The Beer Store, it is highly advertised and they are pushing on it for this summer (2009). This info is probably the best thing of this review... ha, ha. Pours a pale golden colour with a white fizzy-foam head that does not stay long and hardly has lacing. Big bubbles are all around the glass, so quite fizzy. Malt piss nose with a little corn taste, but also, this chemical aftertaste of raw sewage. Almost like vegetables gone bad. It is quite yuckie overall.

Originally rated June 2009. I was quite surprised to see Lakeport come out with an ale (and especially pleased). Pours a pale golden colour with a big white head that creates nice lacing. Slow carbonation composed of small bubbles. The nose is grainy with malt and the mouthfeel is pretty wet and crispy, with just little stick in the background. The taste is well balanced to not be to strong, but yet between the sweet malt (which is not too sweet) and the hop (not too hoppy as well). I find notes of red apples in the aftertaste, and this is quite refreshing. This is one of those beers that I have had many times since it has come out, and one of my favorites in the discount brands at The Beer Stores in Ontario.

A reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of chemical fruit powder. In mouth, a slightly sour malt water, with the body of water. Blaaaaah... Can from my sister’s fridge.

Bottle: Poured a pale yellowlager with a goiod size foamy head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of loads of adjunct. Taste is also dominated by adjunct with some gross sweetness and some alcohol ester. This is worse then I had anticipated – beer to get drunk cheaply to I guess.

No sign of a brewery on the can. No worries, it probably goes to the lowest bidder anyway. I mostly bought this to compare with the Egyptian non-alc I found but I was pleasantly surprised. Golden colour with some head (though this doesn’t last past the first sip). The aroma is of spicy hop and fresh worty/bready malt. Flavour is worty, grainy, spicy (hop) and is also fairly watery. The body is quite carbonic but you need it because of some syrupiness. Off-dry finish, and it’s that lingering wortiness that negates the hops a bit. On the whole, this is one of the better non-alcs.

Canette 355ml.

This beer poured a light yellow colour with a bright white head. To the nose was metal, paint thinnerand corn. First taste was watery with next to no aftertaste. Hint of corn and more water with a slight flavour of perfume. The palate is primarily watery light beer.

Bottle: Poured a very light amber color beer with a small bubbly white head with minimal retention. Aroma of adjunct is dominant with some sweet notes. Taste is quite bland with some sweetness and limited adjunct appearance. Bland and boring cheap swill are the best descriptive I can find here.

Bottle: Poured a deep bright yellow color beer with a medium pure white foamy head with surprisingly good retention. Aroma of corn and adjunct is quite powerful and disgusting. Taste is also quite strong with corn and adjunct with a dry finish and no hops. Wow, this is quite bad and not even close to a pilsner.

I agree with radiomgb, it does look like cola but with a thick resilient moka head. Very light caramel aroma. Very light malt and light sweet finish, with no hops. A coloured lager. Rickard’s Red has more taste than this...
