Sampled @ KBC Festival Den Bosch 2012. Slightly unclear orange to red color, small white head that’s quickly gone. Smell malts, hint of sweetness, only slightly some hops. Taste malts, lightly fruity, lightly hoppy, lightly bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation. Quite decent.

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer Tasting, London. Cheers Bruce for bringing this one along! Pours black-brown with a lovely, creamy beige head. Cocoa, roast, light lacto sweetness and dark bread in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with subtle roast, burnt bread, cocoa and some ash. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Semi-sweet finish with charcoal, some cocoa and burnt earth bitterness. Very decent beer.

Bottle, thanks to Leighton at his Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting. It pours almost black, with a thin beige head. The nose is salted liquorice, chocolate, caramel and seawater. The taste is roasted malt, milk chocolate hint of smoke, caramel, nut and salted liquorice, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle from De Bierkoninng, Amsterdam Saturday 3rd March 2012 consumed at home 08.03.12 Pours hazy gold/orange with white head. Quite spicy from the off, with a decent bitterness that tickles the tongue, nice mouthfeel, soft and smooth. Warming from the alcohol, then then the bitterness shows again. Fine A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

75 cl bottle from Mitra Middenweg (A’dam) @ home. Clear, amber color, off white, sticky head. Once the head fades strong wood aroma’s (oak, vanilla) come up, with some sweet malt in the background. Flavor is medium bitter, still with wood notes (oak). Body is medium. Finishes with a medium bitterness. Interesting to say the least, and pretty good.
