Draught @ Bierstraatje Boxtel 2014. Hazy dark orange to red - brownish color, medium to full sized thick, lightly creamy, very well lacing beige head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, wort, sweet, hazelnuts, figs and perhaps lightly caramel and raisins. Taste malts, again lightly that weird touch of hazelnuts, caramel, raisins and figs mixed together, sweet. Not the straightforward Abbey Dubbel and that’s what makes it interesting. Once you’re used to the weird sweetish nutty flavor it’s actually quite nice. Certainly worth a try, as I said at first a bit weird perhaps, but definitely not bad. -- Sampled from bottle September 23rd 2014. Didn’t get that nutty flavor this time, but more balanced imo. Still worth a try.

Bottle. Typical german weizen. Yeasty, with notes of wheat and some banana. Not bad, just a bit too much carbo.

Damm bijna vergeten deze, even opgezocht maar gevonden 2012 zelfs al weer. wazig oranje met witte kraag, bovenal gran en moutig bier en wat fruittonen van sinaasappel, hop, matig bitertje, zacht/glad, pepertje, medium body maar niet zo’n bijzondere indruk achterlatende. ’tja wat wil je met zo’n logo.. --- Beer merged from original tick of Peerd on 25 May 2018 at 16:49 - Score: 6

30 cl bottle from VVV Assen @ home. Brouwsel 2013. Deep dark brwon color with a red hue. Uneven beige head. Aroma’s: sweet malts, red/dried fruit, berries, some caramel/(sticky) toffee, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, toffee-ish, fruity. Quite strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Finish of caramel malts, hint of bitter. Well crafted but (a bit) too sweet.

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, huge head. Starts intense malty, wheaty, more and more spicy. Fruity notes of peaches and apricot. Finish light alcoholic, still okay. Not bad!

Tap at the Delft Beer Festival. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, nettles, veg and malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.

Tap at the Delft Beer Festival 2014. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin white head and some broken lace. The aroma is yeast, light malt, citrus, light hop. The flavour is light bitter with a big chewy yeast, malt hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Dry malty aroma. Starts malty, modest dry, light fruity notes of raisins. Finish still dry, a bit earthy. Okay.

0,3 l bottle from Slijterij Benting, Coevorden. And, as I repeat everytime at Maallust ratings, a simple but perfect and informative label art design. Light unclear and pale golden in the glass, big white head. Yeast, wheat and soft caramell on the nose, light fruity. Starts surprisingly very herb, dry grapefruit and orange. A lot of hop, no easy drinker. Low but present sweetness. Alcoholic hints in the aftertaste.

0,3 l bottle from Slijterij Benting, Coevorden. And, as I write everytime at Maallust ratings, a simple but perfect and informative label art design. An unclear pale orange in the glass, small fine foamy head. Malt and dry fruits on the nose. Taste dry apricot, malt, pleasant sweetness, hop in the second row. Nuts and cookies, sweeter to the end. Not so alcoholic as expected. Enjoyed it a lot!
